Well, we thought we were going to get ahead a little bit,
but we must be doing something extremely right, because The Dark Ones aren't
giving me a break. A week before the end of the month the landlord showed
up and said he was increasing our rent from $375 to $550, and if we couldn't
pay it we'd have to be out by the end of the month. We found another place,
got out, cleaned the old place out and left it immaculate, then went back
for our security deposit. The landlord then informed us he wasn't going
to give it to us because we didn't give him thirty days' notice...just exactly
what I expected him to do! These rip offs are so predictable as to be almost
comical.
I keep telling people that all that keeps me going sometimes is the sure
and certain knowledge that people like this can get away with things in
this world where their lies can be hidden, but in The Next World they have
to pay in full, and I will definitely put a debt on this man.
Things are going to be very difficult for the next few months. The rent
at our new place is $50 more, plus we have to pay the electricity, and we
had to run up some more debt in moving. VOICES will keep going, but
if we're a little late the next couple of issues, do understand!
