One poor talk show host had an awful time getting ahold of me. Every time
he called me his phone equipment would go down. When he finally got through
he apologized again, for not making the last appointment, and I told him
it was no problem. I knew something was wrong because the Angels didn't get
reday to go out.
He asked me what I meant and I explained to him that each time I speak on
the radio legions of Angels go out to speak in the ear of everyone that hears
me, to verify what I was saying is true. The announcer asked me why this
was done, and I told him it was so when people stand in judgment and say
"But Lord, how was I to know this man was speaking the truth?" The Nazarene
will answer,
"I sent my Angel to speak unto you, to confirm his words but you preferred
to hear him not, because you love the council of man and not the council
of God. Begone! There is no place for you in my Kingdom!"
The announcer said something like "Whoa! That's pretty rough! Don't give
you any excuses, do They?"
"No," I answered, "they most certainly don't! They take every opportunity
They can to reach their people, and when they don't respond, They act accordingly!"
I really didn't want to do it, but too many people have been asking me
what the former American Presidents think of the situation in Washington
right now. So we sent out the word that we would like to have a spokesman
come forward and give their opinion on the current situation.
It was Dwight D. Eisenhower who arrived and spoke to my Worker.
"We are absolutely dumbfounded," he began, "and really wonder what has happened
to our great country and to the office of The Presidency.
How did the American people ever manage to elect such a buffoon? Didn't
anyone ever teach these people the words discretion, caution, and privacy?
We don't begrudge the man any comforts which he desires to seek. But he should
have the common sense to choose those he has a relatiohsip with more carefully
so that they will not run around bragging to their friends who record their
conversations what they have been doing.
We have nothing but contempt for the people that have, without doubt, betrayed
The President's trust. But his lack of judgment must also be pointed out.
It is bad enough to do stupid things. It is even worse, after you do them,
to completely bungle any effort to keep them quiet.
Good Lords, these people are even beginning to make NIXON look good! With
every report we simply sit and shake our heads and mutter "God help our country,
because the people that are supposed to be taking care of it haven't the
vaguest idea of what they're doing.
Our wives all concur. The best thing in the world the wife of this man could
do is pack her bags and go out the door.
The whole situation is a disgrace. That is all I can say. It is simply a
TOTAL disgrace!"
