WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING HERE

November 1, 1999- We received a phone call around 4:30 p.m. CST from our movie producer, Steve Stenken who advised us he was in town and would be over with his cameraman and sound man, Jamie & Dale, around 7 p.m. We rushed to get some last minute picking up done and made it just in time! Had a wonderful visit with them until around ten p.m. about what we would be doing the next day at the recording studio in Moorhead, MN, and the rest of the week. Gerald entertained them with stories of his life experiences which they seemed to thoroughly enjoy!

November 2, 1999- One of the biggest days in our lives arrived! We got to the recording studio in Steve's rented van around 1 p.m. I was nervous at first, but really got into what I was doing. We did a fantastic job! I couldn't believe it! I sang "Listen To The Angels" and played it on a HUGE Steinway piano. Hmmm....didn't John Lennon own a white one? Anyway, I played that on the piano and sang, then on the accordion then Gerald got to sing the Monica song, and a couple of others we have published in the magazine. We worked and talked and sang until almost 4 p.m.. Steve interviewed us between songs. They filmed us recording the songs. WOW! Who'd have ever thought we'd be doing this? It's wonderful! And we want it to come out just right for Steve and friends.

November 3, 1999- It's Wednesday. We all had to get up extra early this morning to do a radio interview with WEBN in Cincinatti, where Steve lives, so he could film it and pick up the tape when he arrived home Sunday. It was great! I got to sing part of Listen To The Angels, and Gerald talked about how the song was channeled, etc.. The interview went very well. However afterwards I began to not feel well with my sinus problem acting up again. I took several naps during the day, and medicine. Steve came back around 1 p.m. and interviewed me about how I met Gerald and some of my background with the metaphysical while growing up. It went well even though I didn't feel well. They came back at 4:30 and interviewed Gerald outside, about his artwork. He got to sit on the porch steps in the perfect natural lighting, hold up a painting at a time and describe it, and why he created it. That night they returned again around 7:30 and filmed Gerald doing his Unitarian-Universalist lecture about Spiritism, with our posters.

November 4, 1999- Well I took several naps today. Steve and Jamie came back to the trailer in the afternoon to film an interview with me. I wasn't doing very well but cooperated the best I could and they said I was great! I even managed to fit in about John Lennon's song, how I channeled it and why. They filmed my pictures that are on the internet. I couldn't find the wedding ones so I had Gerald dig them out when he got home. It was so beautiful outside they didn't have to use any lighting, just put me by the kitchen table at the window.
That afternoon they came back around 3:30 p.m to go to Jesse's house for his portion of the movie. We wanted to leave early to film his house outside, and Gerald standing by the Welcome To Valley City sign where Jesus appeared to him during astral proection and told him to move there. Steve agreed to Gerald going along so we both did since I was feeling better by then. They put microphones on both of us, put us in the back seat and had the camera between the front seats while Jamie held onto it. When we got to Valley City we had just enough time for the interview with Gerald in front of the sign. It was windy and they didn't know how well the audio would come out. But at least the video did.
We stopped in the local restaurant to wait for Jesse to get home and the guys treated us to supper. It was delicious! Jesse met us there because I mentioned that's where we might be in the email I sent earlier. We were thrilled with how he'd cleaned up his house and his interview went wonderfully! He was surprised how well he did also and liked how he came out on film. The drive back was interesting, though it had gotten considerably colder and windy.
Had a good night's sleep

November 5, 1999- No one called all day. I was working on a special project on the internet so I figured no one could've called at noon anyway. This night Jesse got off work early and we went to film our weekly visit to the laundrymat, just because it's what we do! It went o.k but it was so noisy we had to cut out the audio. Steve filmed each one of us sitting in front of our drier with all the colors going around inside. What next? Hope the night wasn't a total loss. We then went to get Jesse some gas and stopped at Wal Mart.

November 6, 1999- The final day! It didn't seem possible a whole week had gone by already! Steve & Jamie came back around 2:30 to film as I read The History to Jesse and Gerald. Also they did more of my wedding pictures, and did a voice over of Jesse's comments on a poster at his house that didn't come out well. The last thing that happened was Jamie used his camera to take a digital photograph of us standing on the steps. I had my black jacket on that I have in the photo on our web site. Gerald has his arm around me again. We're standing on the trailer steps. It sure was hard to try to stay perfectly still for about three minutes! But we did it, though I did keep moving my face, which I hope didn't mess it up. We helped Steve gather all his stuff to put in the van. They nearly forgot some wiring for the camera! Jesse took it out to them just in time, and Steve came back in to check. We signed the release forms.. We went inside, Jesse took Gerald to the store. Then we had salami sandwiches, and Jesse left for home. Lots more to do! We found out the movie won't be edited any at all until next spring! We'll definitely be waiting in suspense!

All in all it was a memorable and fantastic week! Thanks to all who made it happen and we wish them all the success that can come their way with this project! Many many thanks to Steven Stenken and Jamie Ferguson, also Dale the other cameraman, for all their dedication and hard work on this project and, for their interest in our Work. We wish them all the success in the world, and are glad they're our friends.
Now we have to wait another week or so to either receive or hear word about the KROQ Christmas CD containing John Lennon's "LISTEN TO THE ANGELS" I have received word that a famous musician has either remixed it or just touched up the music I played in the song. I am praying it'll be as wonderful as it seems and Mr. Lennon may return to work with us again.

November 23, 1999 - One of the biggest mysteries of the century is to be solved! The CD with John Lennon's song arrived today by FedEx. but wouldn't you know it, I didn't hear them knock, but found the tag on the door when the mailman came with the mail truck. I was sitting right here at the computer so couldn't figure how I didn't here the man knock before. At lunch I emailed our friend Jesse and asked him if he could come by after work and take us to the office to pick it up. Jesse called me after he got back from lunch and said "Be ready at 5!" I was thrilled.
We both waited anxiously for Jesse to arrive at the appointed time, standing outside even though it was cold, looking at the Christmas lights. He was a bit late due to traffic, but not enough to bother. We arrived at the office well before six and in no time had the treasure well in hand. When we got back out to Jesse's car Gerald ripped open the envelope like a little kid with a present! It was the correct CD! We anxiously read the letter that came with it on the way home and the box. We were thrilled to say the least it said Track 4 By Linda Polley (Channeling John Lennon) & Moby! And the letter said they expected it to sell 50,000 copies in two weeks!
It seemed to be a LONG drive home. The suspense was killing us as to what the song sounded like. After we got our coats off we rushed to play it in the livingroom. We were at first surprised, because it was different than I had recorded it. I was trying to listen, and John Lennon, along with several other Spirits were talking to Gerald at once. He was just about freaking out trying to calm everyone down. At first Mr. Lennon was saying something like "What have they done to our song?" Then, I just had to play it two more times because it was so cool. Then the big news...It had Mr. Lennon's approval! He likes it!
What threw us off is it's a rendition of the song, not all the original lyrics were used. But it's fantastic! Moby did a wonderful job with the music...adding a piano and orchestra effect in the background. And the beat is kind of like how I heard it originally before I wrote it down. I just can't believe it's me on there.
Now, Mr. Lennon is still upset with me. I just wish I hadn't caused so much trouble in the first place and made him angry! I have apologized a million times over, for offending him, but there is just no way to make anyone feel better towards me. The next time someone tells me to do something for my own good, to help, I will certainly listen, and not tell them no.
Now we're eagerly awaiting Nov. 30th when the CD goes on sale in Southern California, for the Starlight Foundation and other children's charities. I pray it works, and, helps people to listen to the angels...that The Christmas Eve Campaign will be a success, even in the smallest way, and Mary returns to Earth. Oh, how we pray this will be so!

Until Next Issue...
