Greetings!

I am John Lennon, formerly of the rock and roll group called The Beatles, now Apostle Designate to Jesus Of Nazareth, Called The Christ.
I come now to speak to those who are using the circumstances of my death to act against the ownership of firearms.  I understand what is in your Souls, I understand how you look upon a gun and consider it the source of evil, but sadly I must tell you that if you took away every gun in the world there would still be unspeakable evil.  Look at what has just happened!  The men who committed these horrible deeds had no guns.  They used knives to commandeer these planes, and use them as weapons.
Guns are not the problem.  What is the problem is mankind's permissiveness of evil, their tendency to excuse evil and to forgive evil when it is politically convenient.  The problem is not guns, but those who encourage people to do evil for their own selfish interests.
The problem is those that teach others that because of their religion it is perfectly appropriate to attack and kill people that do not practice your religion.  The problem is those that use religion for hate and greed, who, in the name of Allah or in the name of Jesus tell others to kill without mercy.
I ask you, if you believe in me, stop worrying about the guns, and start worrying about the people using them.  See that they are no longer excused, that they are no longer forgiven.  It was not a gun that killed me, that destroyed my mortal existence, it was a cruel, unthinking, uncaring man who wanted, in any way, to  be famous, who would do anything for attention.  Now men like him have destroyed two great buildings, and killed thousands of people.  Taking away the guns will not stop them.  If I had not been shot, I would have most likely been stabbed.
We must stop glorifying those that do evil, we must stop publicizing their names, we must stop honoring them.  As their names are removed from The Book Of Life forever, they must be removed from the memory of the living forever.  Those who do such things must never be recorded in history, and when mankind no longer does so, a great deal of the evil in the world will disappear, for men will no longer have a reason to do it.  They will no longer profit from it.  If you respect me, and honor me, see that this comes to pass throughout the world!
