We are asked again and again what The Afterlife looks like.  Well, it looks like The Earth.  I mean, if you float above it and rotate around it, you'll see all the continents and everything.  It at first, looks rather normal.  It's only when you land and look around that you realize it's quite different.  When you get to Jerusalem and see The Capitol Of The Kingdom Of God you know you're not on Earth any more. And The Spirit World is multiple leveled.  It's like a layer cake.  The further you go down, the further you go into the past.  Each city has another city under it a decade or so in the past.  Some people like to live in the modern times, some people like to go back to an earlier, simpler era.  Though it is at first confusing for people when they arrive, in a short time they find that it is very easy for them to move from place to place, from era to era, and they enjoy living in these different periods.  After all, The Afterlife is patterned on the material life.  The mansions that are prepared for us are prepared in a form that we would find recognizable.  There wouldn't be much sense in them being prepared otherwise.  For a while a person often needs a place they are familiar with, that they easily recognize before they go exploring and find all the wondrous things there are to see.
