Were There Skyscrapers On The Old Worlds?

With the fall of The World Trade Center the question has arisen "Were there skyscrapers on The Old Worlds?" The answer is, no. We have done a little research on this, and not relied on our own memories, but contacted individuals from each of The Major Races. Havens limited the height of buildings to 25 stories above the normal terrain, and these buildings were built much more rugged than Earth structures. They were solidly attached to bedrock. No building was allowed to be built on fill or loose terrain. No matter how deep the bedrock was, the building's foundations had to go down to it, or major buildings could not be built in that area. Only single story single family units were allowed on unstable ground, and these were usually soft-roofed so if they collapsed they would do little harm. Massive open skyscrapers so popular on Earth would have been unthinkable on Haven! The Hashons, too, limited construction to 25 stories. This seemed to be very popular. Their buildings, too, were more substantial than those on Earth. They did allow 3 and 4 story buildings on less stable ground, but they had to be well constructed! Like The Havens They only allowed single family dwellings in unstable areas. Before The Great Holocaust The Peepians did have skyscrapers, but afterwards they did not allow buildings over ten stories, as anything above this height was very difficult to keep sealed against the toxic atmosphere that so long surrounded their world. Even after they had managed to undo a lot of the damage to Their world, They did not build tall buildings. Skyscrapers seem to be a phenomena peculiar to Earth.
