Jesus' Joy

Had one of those irritating days Friday that started out phenomenally but ended a nightmare.  Got a really nice email from Canada that showed my messages were getting through and at least one pastor was sharing them with the members of his church.  The gentleman explained how my teachings had saved his son from homosexuality and how much he appreciated that I was speaking out.  He asked me not to share his email with others, not to show it, which I had to respect.  But when I got to work I just had to share this good news with my coworkers.
I was talking to one of them, explaining how the man had said in the email that he believed I had saved his son from insanity, saved him from the insane.  Suddenly the weekend cook began to scream "You better not be talking about homosexuals, Gerald.  You have no right to call homosexuals  insane.  You have no proof of this.  Who told you that?  What proof do you have of it, or is it just something you made up yourself like everything else you say?"  I said "Look, I don't have to prove anything to you!  And don't you tell me what I can and can't say. That's not up to you."  "I have a right to question you!"  the cook answered. "I have a right to speak up.  You can't prove that.  You're just making it up.  You have no right to attack people."
I told him anybody with any common sense knew homosexuals were insane, it's something that doesn't have to be proved.  I went back to work and proceeded to ignore him, still speaking with my friend once and a while.  A while later the weekend cook went out into the break area, and I followed him out.  I said "Look, I know you enjoy irritating people, attacking their deeply held beliefs just to be irritating, but I don't appreciate it.  If you want to irritate somebody irritate somebody else,  but I don't want to hear your nonsense!"  "Don't tell me what to do!" the cook screamed.  "Who in the hell do you think you are?  You're just a dishwasher, I'm a cook!  I'm in charge in here!  I've had all of you I'm going to take.  Everybody in here hates you, they're sick of your bigotry!  They want you out of here.  You're  gone!  I've had it!  I'm telling the boss it's either you or me.  You're outta here!  I'm sick of you!"
I told him not to threaten me, that he had no right to tell me what to do or to criticize my religious beliefs. "Let me bring in some material," he screamed, "read the truth!"  "I don't read homosexual propaganda," I told him.  "I don't listen to their lies.  I don't associate with evil."  "You're out of here!" he screamed again, "You're out of here!  I'm not going to take it any more.  You know what I'm going to do right after work?"  he cried, "I'm going to write a check for a thousand dollars for the local gay group and take it down to 'em."  I said, "Go ahead, if you wanna throw your money away!"  Again he screamed that I was outta there.   I just shook my head and returned to work.
I tried to call the boss but couldn't get through.  A little while later he called about something else and asked me what was going on.  I told him about the cook's threats and that I wanted to get ahold of him because I didn't want it hanging over me all weekend.  He said not to worry, he knew what the cook was, and he wasn't in as high esteem as he thought he was.  Of course that helped but you still worry whenever somebody like this starts threatening they're going to get you fired.   This guy is also chumming with the night cooks who don't like it because I report it when the work isn't done because they're in too much of a hurry to leave.  The boss appreciates this but of course, they don't.  I've been through this situation many times before.  It's no fun working with people that are doing their utmost to get rid of you because you don't appreciate their sickness and what they're teaching children.
As I say, over and over again, it's a sick world, and getting sicker every day.  But I think we're beginning to touch people, I think that's why this particular individual is so irate.  He didn't like it that we'd brought somebody back, that we'd saved a child they were trying to corrupt.  I don't think he likes being told people can be turned from homosexuality, that they can be brought back to the truth.  But as long as he's around me, he'll know there's people fighting his sickness because no matter what he threatens I'll keep on fighting!  He'll never stop me!

FOOTNOTE: You can't imagine what Friday morning's response meant to Jesus!  It is almost impossible to describe His joy that somebody from Canada answered!  But we need more, we need public acknowledgment of Jesus' message.  We need people answering His call.  Calgary continues to drink up every bit of spiritual energy and life energy that The Kingdom Of God is pouring into it.  The spirit is in the people to begin the movement to stop homosexuality, but so many are still afraid to speak because they don't want people to feel they're fanatics or, racist.  This is the dark ones' greatest weapon.  This is how they destroy so many.  But hopefully more will begin to spread Jesus' messages and to speak of them openly.  If there is one there must be more, and if we can unite them we can win!  We must win!
