George Harrison at a loss what to say about the Doctor Lederman matter,
and the hoopla about him autographing a guitar for the doctor's son, and,
a couple of cards for his daughters. "I don't remember these incidences
too well," he said, "everything then, was pretty foggy. But I really
think far too much fuss is being made over it. This is all part of
fame, all part of what we got ourselves into when we started singing.
I really don't know. I understand my family's feelings, but I really
would not feel right having the kid's guitar taken away from him.
It's one of those situations when you don't know who to side with!
It all seems such nonsense and so trivial here, with everything else that
is going on.
The doctor made some mistakes. Why don't we just have him apologize
and forget the whole damned thing? Wouldn't that be enough to make
everybody happy? So, the kid's got a guitar that may be worth something
in a couple of hundred years because I signed it. Big deal!
Like, it's going to kill a whole bunch of people. How about putting
it on display in the lobby of the hospital and asking everybody that views
it to give a donation to cancer research in my name? Wouldn't that
be a good solution? It still remains the property of the doctor's
family, but does some good at the same time. There's all kinds of
solutions! I just hate having my memory darkened by trivial little
things like this. It really, really disturbs me!" That's all George
has to say, and I guess that's enough.
Some time ago, however, I asked George why he's jumped in and is doing
everything he can to help John Lennon and Those in The Kingdom Of God.
George's answer was this. "It really takes no Einstein to figure
it out! There's several billion people on Earth. If the Earth
shrivels up and dies less than three thousand can be saved. I don't
think I would be one of those three thousand. So, I don't want this
ball of mud that we live on to shrivel up and die! I want it to be
around here for a good long time so I'll be around for a good long time.
It's simple self preservation, the desire to exist. And if my Lord
supports The Kingdom Of God and says 'Hey, everybody, we've gotta save
this place!' I support It! That simple! I want everything I love
to continue to exist, and I'll give everything I've got to see that it
continues to exist. Because I love a lot of things I left back there
in the material world, and if anybody can't figure out that simple principle,
we might as well give up right now, because we're already beat!
John Lennon, God bless him, says he is fighting because he wants
everyone to have what he had when he died, to have a wonderful Place where
if you're good, people will welcome you and take care of you 'til you're
willing to come out and join in the struggle. I guess that's a good
reason to fight, too, or, to help in any way you can. Is that so
difficult to understand?" I told George "I don't think so!"
What would you tell him?
The entire effort of The Kingdom Of God this sabbath will be to continue
Mary's efforts to reach President Bush. The normal sabbath day celebrations
will not be carried on. Instead, for the entire day, Everyone in
The Kingdom Of God will pray that President Bush accepts Father Abraham's
Peace Proposal. That's all They'll do the whole day! It is
just incredible how much effort is being expended trying to get two human
beings to work with The Kingdom Of God to achieve the same purposes They
want to achieve! But Those in The Kingdom Of God are stubborn!
They're going to keep trying. They simply won't give up!
Had one of those strange things happen this morning that makes you
shake your head and really wonder about things. Found an article
about Frank Sinatra's family winning a lawsuit against an impersonator
who was doing an unauthorized biography of him. I asked my Worker
to find out from Mr. Sinatra what he thinks of this. She brought
back this message:
"Greetings Loyal And Trusted Servant Of Christ!
I am delighted with my family's success in this effort, but as you have contacted me I must ask a favor of you. I know I gave you permission to have the new Christmas song I wrote produced. I must now withdraw that permission and ask you to even remove the lyrics from your magazine. I have come to the sincere belief that ordinary Spirits like myself should not attempt to communicate with the material world, that the Biblical teachings against this are very sound. I will give you no further messages. I know you must report my activities in the service of Our Lord And Savior, but I will personally give you no further messages for anyone. I believe this is for the very best of all.
My sincere wishes to you.
Father Sinatra"
Of course we will have to respect Mr. Sinatra's wishes. But after all he has seen and all that he has done for Those trapped outside of the Kingdom Of God because of Its war with The United States we find this very hard to understand!
