Places Of Prayer

Muhammed's anger that The Iraqi insurrectionists are using mosques as fortresses hoping to draw American fire and anger their people is enraging him.  "Such cowardice," he says, "to try to use holy places as shields from which to kill because you think the enemy will not fire back shows that these insurrectionists are the lowest vermin that exists!"
 Muhammed begs his people not to be taken in by this foul treachery and to understand that the American marines are his holy warriors, carrying out his jihad against the evil in Iraq that will destroy his people.  Again he asks his people to rise up against the insurgents.  He tells them, "These are your true enemies!  I give The Americans my blessings to enter into the mosques that have become unholy and defiled with the presence of these foul creatures that have infested them.  I ask them to enter these mosques and clean them out, remove these creatures of evil from them, and make them places of holiness where God dwells, not evil."
Muhammed again asks President Bush to begin tribunals, to "try and punish those responsible for these evils, not just those who are doing the fighting, but those that are sending them out to kill, those religious and political leaders who are teaching the people to hate, who are teaching them to kill...find them, try them, and eliminate them either by sending them to a greater justice, or, by sending them into exile.  But those corrupting the people must be removed, one way or another.  This is the command of God given by His Prophet."

COMMUNES ON THE OLD WORLDS

Got talking the other day about communes, and somebody asked if there were any communes on The Old Worlds.  Surprisingly, this was a common phenomenon throughout The Old Worlds. As restricted as The Haven Society was They allowed communal communities, where all property was commonly owned by the members of the community, and all profits equally shared.  Both The Hashons and The Peepians had similar communities, usually associated with different religious sects.   But the idea of a group of people commonly holding land and sharing the profits from whatever was produced on that land, was very common among The Ancient Peoples.  It is little wonder that the idea is so prevalent in human societies, when it was so much a part of the societies from which their social character has sprung.  The idea of working together and sharing the profits is very, very common!
