Sick Responses

Below is a letter we sent to the media in Boston after the one we sent about what The Kingdom Of God would be doing at the Democratic convention.  It is profoundly sad that such individuals are in positions where they can control what the public is receiving, and that they can keep the truth from the public, calling those that bear the truth insane.  We received only one response from a radio station saying this person was not a member of their staff but they appreciated us letting them know what was going on, and they didn't like it either.  There are a few decent people out there!  It is too bad that people like us who are sincere in their beliefs and are trying to share them with others are treated like lunatics because they have a different opinion while the real lunatics are praised.  Everything is certainly turned upside down!

Greetings!

Yesterday we were doing some legitimate emailing in the Boston area when we began to get these insulting and threatening replies.  We are very disappointed that an individual like this works for some t.v. station, radio station, or, newspaper in the Boston area.  This is only part of the sick harassment we received over a period of several hours.  If this person is a member of your staff he should not be.  This is not the way to respond to the public.  Other people have a right to express their opinions.  This individual does not seem to think that people have that right, that only people that share his opinion have a right to voice them.  This should not be.  We are making you aware of this situation in the hopes that if this is your employee something will be done about his obscene behavior.  This is totally uncalled for!

Yours Most Regrettably,

The Polleys

Our reply:
We don't understand your comment. Why send something so stupid to sincere
people?

Because I have not seen such lunatic bollocks in quite a while. Sectarian delusion, utter nonsense. But wait: let me check whether your "church" or whatnot claims tax exemption. If yes I'll file a complaint with the IRS to have it revoked for engaging in partisan politics. Here's a quote from the relevant IRS document:

Political Campaign Activity

Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violation of this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise tax.

Certain activities or expenditures may not be prohibited depending on the facts and circumstances. For example, certain voter education activities (including the presentation of public forums and the publication of voter education guides) conducted in a non-partisan manner do not constitute prohibited political campaign activity.

In addition, other activities intended to encourage people to participate in the electoral process, such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not constitute prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner. On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that: (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention.
