Motel 6 is pretty cool, but nothing like The Roosevelt in Hollywood, however. Can't wait to get a shower and get to bed after some t.v. time. Tomorrow morning we have to be at the old place by 8 a.m. when the carpet cleaners arrive. Then, at 9:30 the woman comes to inspect the trailer and we turn in our keys. We wish so much we were going right to Bismarck, but we have to be official. This writing desk with the t.v. and big mirror over it is great! Will write again when I can, probably from Jesse's house. John Lennon was riding in the UHaul with us to the motel, and will be with us all the way to Bismarck tomorrow. He sits between us.
Well, we made it to Bismarck at about 1 p.m. yesterday! Had a
wonderful night at Motel 6, Fargo, then a big breakfast at the
neighboring Perkins. We went to the trailer early to let the
carpet cleaners in, then we decided to leave early, and it paid
off! Ran into fog, slight showers, wind, and just trying to stay
awake. The UHaul made 70mph at the most. We had to buy gas
twice for $71.00! We had sandwiches in our lunch bag, oranges and
yogurt. Gerald bought diet A & W rootbeer. We found the
UHaul storage place, I signed up while Gerald unloaded some boxes onto
the big carts. He got the washing machine in by himself while I
was gone! (With a hand cart, of course!) We unloaded the
rest of the UHaul at Jesse's. Gerald told me to take a
break. While I was in the apartment he sat down on the truck and
prayed for some help unloading it. Then a car pulled up and two
young guys got out and asked if Gerald needed any help! They
helped move everything in, and then when Jesse came home after 4 p.m.
they helped him. They were from the Mormon church! Jesus
told us later on He prayed to God The Father for Him to send His
servants in the area out witnessing for Him! We were done in no
time! Jesse took his car with us to the UHaul place, helped bring
some stuff to the storage room, including my stuffed animal collection,
then Gerald surprised us with a last splurge of dinner at Jesse's
favorite Chinese restaurant, The Fortune Cookie! It was
fantastic! Then we watched cable t.v. and unpacked until quite
late.
Today we got everything more or less straightened around, even got the
stereo sat up! We used Jesse's cable internet. I figured out his
microwave and even made supper on the electric stove.
We love it here! Gerald went to ask the manager about what time
the mail comes, and he showed him the empty apartment next door.
It's identical to Jesse's and we found out the heat's in with the
rent! So we're hoping Gerald will get a job soon. There are
also 3 available downstairs on the 1st floor too! So keep
everything crossed for a sponsor or, a job very soon! All in all
what a great adventure! Bismarck rules!
Final indignity from Fargo. We left the trailer spotless but the landlord made ridiculous claims that we left stuff dirty and took $81.00 out of the security deposit. Everything they said was just absolute lies! We tell everyone if you're going to Fargo don't have anything to do with Van Raden Properties Inc. This is the third time in a row landlords have stolen from us! It is really getting tiresome!
