A Collaboration With John

Sorry we didn't get an email out yesterday.  Things were rather confused.  We were waiting for some information and it never arrived.  But here's what's going on right now.
We finally got the new book up.  It's a collaboration between Speaker Gerald Polley and John Lennon, with illustrations by Speaker Linda Polley.  John Lennon created the basic outline of the story and Speaker Gerald Polley put in the dialogue.  John welded bits and pieces of information that Speaker Polley had told him about his previous lifetimes into quite a yarn that we hope everyone will enjoy.  We put it out for Halloween.  The delay was caused because of financial problems.  We couldn't get the paper version ready and printed for the copyright.  But that's now finally been done, and a few copies sent out to selected friends.  The book may be read at

Do let us know your comments!  John is interested in knowing how his story idea is received.  We think he has a very good talent for coming up with plots!  We hope others agree.
This week's "Here's Jesus!"  has got some good stuff.  Jesus mentions in Friday's episode that The Kingdom Of God will be taking part in The Spiritist Republic's Halloween celebrations this year.  There will be an exchange of visits between the leaders of the two Spiritual Societies and general celebration by both groups.  This borders on the phenomenal, and brings a great deal of joy to everyone in The Afterlife.  If the current crisis has done anything good it has brought the two houses of Heaven closer together than They have been for hundreds of thousands of years.
The Kingdom Of God is very upset that it took Them so long to get Wilma moving, and They weren't able to keep it a hurricane on the east coast.  But They finally sent it where They wanted it to go, towards Washington D.C.  We'll see what They can do with the next one.  When does the hurricane season end, the end of November?  Jesus says part of the problem was They had to divert energy to stabilize the situation here in Bismarck.  Gerald is having a great deal of trouble at work.  The job started really well.  He kept getting raises and just about all the employees really appreciated him.  Then they hired a refugee from Bosnia who simply cannot get along with anyone, will not follow directions, and is a general hazard in the kitchen.  He does not like that Gerald does the work the way it is supposed to be done, and throws tantrums all night, banging things around and being rude.  Thursday before last he threw an almost full glass of beer in Gerald's face.  Last Thursday he hit him with a frying pan in the back, causing bruising and swelling and scratching his back.  The manager, however, will listen to no complaints about this individual.  He comes to work every day and works, the quality of his work doesn't matter.  It's all Gerald's fault because he's not a team worker.  Everybody else in the restaurant is going "That's ridiculous!  Gerald's the best thing that's ever come along!" But the manager won't listen.  It's obvious that this job won't last too long, if the manager believes that abuse like this is acceptable, as long as somebody shows up every day.  This individual also has serious sanitary problems, which are also being ignored.  Hopefully this individual will eventually disappear.  It is hoped Gerald can hold out in the meantime.  But he will probably only be replaced with somebody similar.  It is almost impossible now to get anybody that will work.  Everybody just wants to do their own thing, and the rules are for everybody else.  Jesus is very upset that Gerald still has to put up with this stuff, that he and Linda do not have the income they need to carry on His Work full time.  But until they do, Gerald will have to keep working.  His shoulder which was doing very well, is now again inflamed from the frying pan injury, making work difficult.  We will try to carry on but these are very difficult conditions that never seem to go away.
Well, that seems to be it for now.  If the funds permit we'll try to get up another one of John's favorite stories.  But do let him know what you think of the latest one.

Movie Reviews

FOYLE'S WAR

Do you like mysteries?  We got some great ones from the library, "Foyle's War," a PBS series that appeared on Masterpiece Theater.  They're absolutely fantastic!  They have so many twists and turns that sometimes even Speaker Gerald Polley can't figure out who the killer is!  If you can pick them up at your local library they're a must see, like virtually everything from Masterpiece Theater they are indeed, masterpieces!  They are probably available on the PBS website, and if they are would be well worth the price.  But if you can't get them there, they would be well worth getting someplace else!  Available on DVD.

Jim Henson's THE STORYTELLER

Here's another great video from the library!  A collection of old fairy tales from Germany and Russia superbly done and narrated.  If it is available at your library or you can pick it up some place else, it's well worth seeing.  Available on DVD.
