The Mexican government asked for extradition.
I was arrested, being held in a detention center when the war
began. They asked for volunteers and I accepted. We once
ruled Mexico, we were the majority in every province, life rotated
around The Catholic Church. Now only five per cent of the people
of Mexico are Catholic. Oh, there's some so-called Christians but they
accept The Spiritualty, work with them. coexist with them.
They are not of God! They have betrayed God! I will fight
The Spiritualty anywhere anyone is fighting them. I would fight
them to my last breath! My hate for them is a passion greater
than the desire for any woman!"
The sergeant threw the last of his drink into the
fire. "You will excuse me," he concluded, "I am going to
bed. I want a good night's sleep so I will be alert in the
morning."
The sergeant wandered off. Everyone was silent
for several minutes then the major pointed to one of the younger
sergeants. "Mayfield, isn't it?" he asked. "What did The
Spir do to you?"
The young man looked around. "I tried to do
them a favor," the young man answered, very sarcastically. "I
tried to financially better their circumstances and it ended up putting
me in jail! Can you imagine that? I tried to be nice to
them and they put me in jail for it!"
"This I gotta hear!" one of the other men put
in. "Come on, man, give! Tell us about it!"
The young sergeant nodded then began to speak.
