1. A Spiritist believes in Spirit.
To a Spiritist the word Spirit means one of two things; 1. The departed
souls of our Blessed Ancestors, or, 2. The place in The Spirit World where
They live. This one word in holy usage refers to both, and is a word held
in a very sacred state.
If you would like a complete list of Spiritist Beliefs, order any of the
free Services to the right, and they will be sent to you. (This leaflet no
longer available.)
As Spirit charges nothing for Their Services, we charge nothing to those
who request them from us. However any donations to help with our Work are
gratefully appreciated.
Spirit teaches that voilence or force should only be used as a last resort,
and only enough force may be used to defend one's self and his or her family,
and, property.A Spiritist may never strike the first blow but certain insults
or threats may be considered a physical attack.
The old expression "Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words can
never hurt me, is untrue. Words can hurt as much as any weapon. There are
those who use them with great skill. No one has the right to insult or threaten
another, thinking they are immune from punishment merely because they are
only using words. But The Lords also teach forgiveness, and encourage their
people not only to be just, but also forgiving, and showing mercy sometimes
even when it is undeserved.
What is true for an individual is also true on a national basis. War may
only be used in defense of ourselves, or our neighbors if they are unjustly
attacked.
It is the duty of the strong to protect the weak, not to oppress them.
