We have just been reading on "The Goblin Universe" by Colin Wilson and Ted
Holiday, which we found very interesting. Though the intruduction was a
bit long (42 pages) the book itself, was well laid out and presented its
information in what we considered an interesting and entertaining manner,
and we would recommend it to those interested in the subjects it covers,
which are everything from Trooping Faries, The Loch Ness Monster and The
Hall of Mirrors.
This book may be obtained from Llewellyn Publications, A Division of Chester-Kent,
Inc., St. Paul, MN 55164-0383 U.S.A.
A subscription to Llewellyn's catalogue is $5.00 a year, which we consider
well worth the price, for they have many other good publicationson many subjects
in the psychic field. The catalogues come every two months, and we always
look forward to ours. (Check with Llewellyn's at P.O. Box
for updated information.)
The American Constitution, the guarantee of rights for every individual,
continues to be attacked on many fronts. Those who wish to force their views
on abortion on everyone else in the nation will campaign for a constitutional
amendment denying a woman her right to an abortion when SHE sees fit.
A midwest judge recently ruled that fundamentalist Christian teachings must
become part of the cirriculum in public school. And that a small group of
parents have the right to regulate what books the entire student body may
read, if they disagree with the content of those publications. Some of the
books on The Fundamentalist's list for banning are, "The Wizard Of Oz," "Little
Women," "The Diary Of Anne Frank," to mention but a few.
The President of The United States himself, constantly expresses his opinion
that prayer should be brought back into the public schools, over the objection
of many in the United Stateswho feel that the place for religious education
is in the home and the church.
The United States Department of Justice is now engaged in a deliberate campaign
to reverse The Supreme Court Miranda Decision, which guarantees that a criminal
be given a statement of his rights before he or she can be interrogated.
They want to give the police a free hand in forcing confessions like they
had before Miranda came into effect.
All these subtle attacks on our basic rights add up to an alarming trend,
that many across the nation are beginning to have a growing concern about.
It is hoped that this concern turns into united action to stop those who
would return us again to the days of ignorance and darkness.
What is Spiritualism? Spiritualism is a Christianized form of Spiritism.
They believe that Spiritualism is taught in The Bible. They believe in
life after death and Spirit contact. But they do not believe in reincarntion,
or extra-terrestrial contact, which are two of the doctrines of Spiritism.
They also call Natural Law God, which the Spiritist does not.
Though we have these differences, Spiritualists and Spiritists often enjoy
fellowship with one-another, and Spiritualist Churches. Because of this
fellowship we will be running a column each issue, on Spiritualist happenings.
We invite those involved in The Spiritualist Movement to submit articles
for this column, and to let us know their activities around the country so
we can pass them on to our readers.
We are also starting a free registry of Spiritualist Churches and Mediums
so we can refer people that write to us to the nearest church in their area.
We invite all churches and mediums to register. Eventually we hope to publish
a Directory of Churches And Mediums, but that is a future project.
How many times have you heard this expression? Well, a Spiritist knows this
isn't true. In the World To Come each of us has an Account into which
every good deed we do is added, and from which every bad deed we do is subtracted,
and we all hope that when that day comes that our Account must be settled,
the Balance is in our favor.
May the Lords grant us The Wisdom that this may be so.
