This is an interview with the Spirit of Amelia Earhart. Her answers are
given through Speaker Gerald A. Polley, and the interviewer is Speaker Linda
J. Polley.
1. Is the story of the time you saw your first airplane fly true?
A. More or less. A little bit more than less. Of course everything has
to be embellished by the Press to make it a little more dramatic. But let
me put it this way, once I knew people could fly, I knew I had to, no matter
what I had to do to get there.
2. On your flight to Newfoundland, with vision so impaired, was it just
by luck you found your way?
A. I would say it was more a matter of skill than luck. They sometimes
called it "finding your way by feeling the air." But most of the time your
vision was impaired you had to fall back on your other senses. It's surprising
how much you can actually hear, if you shut your eyes and open your ears!
It's a trick every pilot had to learn.
3. How did you carry on daily necessities on long flights alone and otherwise?
A. Any way you could, sometimes, with a great deal of difficulty. But
as the old expression goes, "What you gotta do you gotta do!" Let's just
say we found ways.
4. Did you have any psychic abilities?
A. I think as Gerald says, we all have psychic abilities, some of us just
never learn to use them. I don't think I was aware of what abilities I had,
but I think I did use them to a small extent.
5. What is your opinion of how women's rights have progressed since your
death?
A. Progress is our most important goal. But I will not be happy until
it is like on Earth as it was on your worlds where a man and woman aren't
judged by their sex, but by their abilities. When each person can be happy
with what they are, and teach their full potential as an individual regardless
of what gender the evolution of their soul happened to give them.
6. What advice do you have for the women of today?
A. First of all, be a woman. Don't be afraid of it, or ashamed of it.
Be proud of what you are and fulfill your womanly needs. Secondly, be anything
else you want to be, for anything you dream of doing, you can do. The only
thing that can hold you back is your own belief. If you believe you can't
you won't, but if you believe you can you can spread your wings and soar like
the eagles.
7. Is there any truth to the accusations that you were actually on a spying
mission for the United States Government when your plane was lost?
A. None, whatsoever! I had one goal, and one goal alone, to be the first
woman to fly around the world. I would have not done anything to jeopardize
that goal!
8. If this is the case, what about the reports that The Japanese captured
you and your engineer?
A. As I said, I myself, was not involved in any spy mission. That is not
to say that the government could not have built and equipped a plane like
mine and found and trained a woman that resembled me to handle it, or a man
who looked like my engineer to accomapny her. Of course, once being captured,
and saying that she was me, she would not dare change her story to anyone,
especially after she learned my plane had been lost. It would have meant
her immediate execution.
9. What actually DID happen to you and your aircraft?
A. The memory of what happened is confusing to me even now, but I will
try to explain it as best I can. We took off on schedual and maintained
course and speed as planned. We were about half-way through that particular
flight, when suddenly the plane, for a few moments, vibrated severely. Then,
the instruments went crazy. We began to fly far faster than our aircraft
was capable of. Everything outside of us became a white blur, as if we were
flying inside a bright, white cloud. Our instruments said we were rising,
but I had a feeling we were actually descending, though I had no real means
of telling.
Suddenly, small white streaks began to pass us, as if we were standing still.
They looked like balls about the size of grapefruit, with long white streamers
behind them. My engineer looked towards me and said "My God, Amelia, I think
we're going to die!"
It took only a few moments for his words to prove true, for shortly after
that we hit the water. Though the water seemed perfectly smooth I only saw
it for an instant. We hit so hard, we died before we even knew it. The next
thing I knew, somebody was pulling us out of the water, into a small boat,
as our plane sunk below the surface. Through the wreckage of the window I
could see a body still slumped at the controls, and somehow knew it myself.
Those who had picked us up took us to an island and later we returned to
that part of The Spirit
World that was familiar to us. That's all I can really remember, except
for the part just before we hit, where we heard the strange wailing, like
a mllion voices crying out in misery. It was only when I heard that, that
I really became afraid. It must have effected my engineer, too, because that's
when he made his prediction of our death.
10. What do you do now in The Spirit World?
A. Well, really, most of the time I just enjoy life, or whatever you call
it here! I do do a certain amount of lecturing which I 've kind of gotten
used to since coming here, but aside from that, I mostly just enjoy everything
The Spirit World has to offer. It is really fun when you can not only go
to Paris, but pick whatever era in time you want to visit it. It's also fun
being the guests of kings, queens and emporers. Being an honest and decent
person does have its rewards.
11. If any of your friends and relatives who are still alive ever read
this interview and want proof this is from you, what would you say to them?
A. Well, again, as you have said, about any proof I could give, could most
likely be found out by some material way, and your enemies put up such a fight
when any proof is attempted, that it would be a terrible waste of your energy
to attempt to bring through such proofs. Instead, I would say this; belief
is by faith. If you read what I have said and remember what was in my heart,
then you will know these words are from me. If you do not believe, then
no matter what I say, that will not be changed. But if you know me, you
will know in your hearts, that these are my words, my thoughts, given once
more to you.
12. Will you be available for further questions at a later time?
A. Most certainly! I LOVE doing this! I was really excited about the
idea of finally getting to tell people...LIVING people, what actually happened
to me. And I think it's so nice that you alternate male, female every issue,
and give us ladies a chance to speak. So many others are only interested
in the males. They tend to forget that women are better than 50% of history!
The article in our November issue will be with Nikola Tesla. If you have
any questions, kindly get them in quickly. When we have enough questions
for Amelia Earhart they will be put in a future issue. Let us know who you'd
like to hear from, and what questions you'd like to ask. We will try to get
those most requested for interviews.
