A little while ago a friend of ours wrote and said "Why not a Wiccan for
President!"
For right now, I feel this would be aiming a little high, but instead, why
not a Wiccan, Spiritualist, etc., for city council, school board, or mayor?
It is time that those of us who belong to The Old Religions to show the community
that we're not crackpots, weirdos and perverts. And what better way than
to strive for positions of public service and trust; to obtain these positions
and serve in them with honor, honesty, and pride, to show those in our communities
that just because we have differing religious ideas does not mean we will
not serve their interests.
A great politician once said, "Those who merely complain about the system
are of no value, whatsoever. But those who enter the system, and correct
its mistakes leave a legacy for all generations to come."
Let us not be the complainers, let us be the changers.
"The measure of a people is not the glory their fathers left them, but what
they built upon it."
On October 31st, Halloween (All Souls' Eve) The Spiritists celebrate their
biggest holiday. That Day many thousands of years ago, five space ships took
up orbit around Earth, on board them the last survivors of the terrible war
which had destroyed their worlds. Short of foods, short of water they found
here all they needed and hoped to make here a peaceful place where they could
rebuild their civilizations.
That hope was short lived. The old conflicts flared again, and the colonies
established here were destroyed. But the Eternal Spirits of those Travellers
continued to exist and The Faith that they believed in, after centuries of
sleep, has been reborn in The Spiritist Teachings. The Goal of completing
Their Story is almost done, and will soon be ready for the world.
In the meantime, we can only give thanks for The Glory Of Their Love and
give Them This Day in Tribute. Blessed are The Ancient Ones. Glory is Their
Good. Their Light shall Forever Live.
As Halloween rolls around again, several people will be asking the questions,
"Are there such things as ghosts?" and "What are ghosts....really?"
To put it simply, of course there are ghosts, because if Spirits exist,
there have to be ghosts. You see, Spirits and Ghosts are, as far as form
and substance go, the same. The only difference between the two is that
a Ghost is a Spirit which is trapped between Earh and The Spirit World by
either its own beliefs that it hasn't died, or emotional attachment to a
situation or, surrounding. Or a curse put on them by someone during its
lifetime may be blocking its progress. Some ghosts are mischevious Spirits
liking to play tricks on people in The Material World. How ghosts are perceived
when encountered, depends on the degrees of psychic ability the person coming
in contact with them has, and how the Ghost perceives itself, or wishes to
be perceived by people in this realm.
Also Ghosts may wish to relate a message to someone before crossing over
to The Spirit World. However, most Ghosts have to be helped by a psychic
or other Spirits to find their Way to their True Dwelling Place; to follow
The Light Out Of The Darkness of Misunderstanding.
