This is an interview with the spirit of Nikola Tesla. His answers are given
through Speaker Gerald A. Polley, and the interviewer is Speaker Linda J.
Polley. Our thanks to Irene Hamlen Stephenson of The Mini-Examiner (No longer
exchanging.) who sent the questions for this article.
1. Did Thomas Edison bring you to this country to pick your brains?
A. First of all, Mr. Edison did not bring me to America. I came on my own
accord with a letter of introduction in hopes of being employed by him, and
learning his ideas on the electrical field, and to try to interest him in
some of my ideas. Unfortunately, Mr. Edison was committed to using one form
of electricity, where my expertise and ideas were turned toward another form.
We simply could not come to terms with each other over the issue, so we
simply parted our ways. If any brain picking was done, I think I would have
been the guilty party. For I availed myself of much of Mr. Edison's knowledge
which he might not have been totally aware he possessed. I hope this is
a satisfactory answer to your question.
2. Do you feel he could have invented the light bulb without your ideas?
A. Mr. Edison developed the light bulb long before he ever heard of me.
There was little way my work could have contributed to his efforts. He
was already producing light bulbs and supplying electricity when I became
employed by him.
3. How do you feel now about Edison using your ideas and taking credit for
it?
A. I think you are very unfair to Mr. Edison. I will not say he was a perfect
man; like all of us he had his faults, but I do not think there was ever
a time that he was deliberately cruel or unfair, even to those persons he
did not like. He could be very rude and discourteous, but he was never knowingly
unjust. I believe I have answered this question already. All scientists
borrow ideas from one another. That is the whole idea of science- to add
one idea to another and come out with something enitrely new. That is the
name of the game.
4. The powers in charge destroyed your information and people have been
searching for it ever since. Can you tell us how to do it?
A. I would say, my dear lady, that you have many misconceptions. My wireless
transmission system would have been a total failure. Most scientists of
today would easily tell you this. Alternating current works. It is the
cheapest and easiest way to make electricity available at this present time.
Perhaps in some future age my ideas will be able to be put to some practical
use, but not at the present moment. You see, I was drawing from remembered
knowledge, from long-passed lifetimes, of power sources that mankind are
not ready for, and will not be ready for for some time.
5. Is there someone alive who could do it?
A. Yes, there are some that could continue my work, but for the same reasons
I failed, they will fail. I do agree, however, that safer ways should be
sought for generating power. You have the sun and the wind, the tides and
the rushing water, why do you invite disaster by creating piles of death
on the edges of your cities? To me this is insanaity.
6. Have you reincarnated with the same talents?
A. Not as of yet. I am looking forward to a new journey and have already
selected the locale and the preparance of that vessel that I need is being
arranged. I do not wish to miss The Coming Age, The Age of Many Awakenings,
the Age of Growth when the superstitions, prejudices and shortsightedness
of the past will fade away, and The World will be led at last, by those with
True Wisdom!
7. Will you be available for more questions in future issues?
A. Yes, for the next five years! That is how long it will take to complete
the arrangements for my new vessel!
The article in our January issue will be with Marie Antoinette. If you have
any questions, kindly get them in quickly. When we have enough questions
for Nikola Tesla they will be put in a future issue. Let us know who you'd
like to hear from, and what questions you'd like to ask. We will try to
get those most requested for interviews.
