THE SPIRITS SPEAK

This is an interview with the Spirit of The French Queen Marie Antoinette, as channeled through Speaker Linda J. Polley.

* * *

1. Is it true when you first came to France and, after you became Queen all you cared about was having fun?

A. Of course! I was never brought up to do much of anything else. And with all the money after I became Queen it was just too tempting a thing to leave alone. If you had fame and riches suddenly when you were very young, and lots of new friends, what would you have done?

2. Was the King as stupid, fat and unpleasant as people say?

A. When I first met my husband-to-be I was shocked and disgusted by his physical appearance, but he was a kind and loving soul and tried to do his best for me. I do not believe he was any more ignorant than anyone else of royal blood, and I grew to respect him. He desired greatly to see to all my needs, and tried to give me all I wanted. It was not his fault, being a person high born, as I, that no one taught him how to be a good husband and please me in all ways. I was as ignorant as he on some of these matters until I came to court. He did very well by me and was a wonderful father to our children later on. I would not have asked for a better companion. After all, as they say, looks are not everything, and as I mentioned, we gave each other as much freedom as possible to do what we liked, as long as it did no one great harm.

3. It is true you were a virgin for seven years?

A. Let us just say I had been married seven years before I had sexual relations to a full extent with my husband. With all the fun and extracurricular activities I attended, it was very difficult to remain untouched, being as forward as I. Of course I was modest before others, as one should have been, but my personal life was my affair. I was The Queen. I believe my husband understood this, and respected what freedom I had, not questioning me. This was partly because of his physical problem, partly from ignorance on the subject at hand...of physical contact.

4. Did you really say "Let them eat cake?"

A. Yes, I regret to say I did say this phrase, however, I did not mean it to be as malicious a statement as it was taken to be. I was frustrated and fed up with hearing about the poor population that day, so I decided if I said something like this to the people who kept bothering me, it would frighten them away, and I would have some peace to think. I had no idea it would make me out more of the villainess than I had imagined. I may add this also stems from an almost nonexistent knowledge of cooking!

5. Is it true you never loved your husband?

A. I am not sure how to answer this, and believe I have with the second question. I respected him, and we were very close. I do not believe I knew the meaning of the word love except when it came to my children.

6. Did you have an affair with Count Axel von Ferzon?

A. I believe these answers are repeating themselves. You take it from there!

7. Did you journey to The Spirit World immediately after you were beheaded, or did you feel pain afterwards?

A. I do not remember these things well...I believe I hovered outside my body for a time, feeling very sick and that my neck hurt terrible. Then, after a few moments, I believe this was as you would say, when my brain ceased to function and my silver life cord was broken holding me to this world no longer, I turned and saw an older woman standing by me, dressed like a servant. She guided me away and things just seemed to fade around me. The next thing I knew I was in a type of castle, where she bade me lie down as I was still feeling sick, and brought a Spiritual Healer to help me. I closed my eyes to rest, and later on, after some time, I awoke feeling like I was burning. I was beginning to wonder if I'd gone to the right place!
I discovered I was all right and still in this sunny castle room. I was terribly ill for a time, and wondered what would happen to me. Someone, a kindly older man, came and explained where I was, and that I was ill because of the torment I had gone through in prison and from some of the things I had done in my life that weren't too pleasant. I would stay there for a time, and then I would be taught more of The Spirit World, and how I could help others if I wanted to. I didn't want to do anything for a long time, just have a chance to relax after the hardships. Now I am helping others in a hospital who first come here, and also, am becoming an actress.

8. Were you ever visited by the Spirits of your family while you were in prison?

A. I do not remember. All I know is it was cold, wet, dark and lonely; and disgustingly uncomfortable to a sick lady.

9. Did you ever regret the things you did that caused trouble?

A. Of course I do! Everyone has regrets about their lifetimes. I have tried to make up for these mistakes as best as I can.

10. Were you scared when the end came, or relieved it was finally to be over?

A. Well, to tell you the truth, at the time I could care less what happened to me next, at that moment, but of course I was SCARED! I was shaking terribly when they brought me outside for the trip to the guillotine. I was so weak and terrified I just didn't want to fight my feelings any longer. But I DID want to show I was proud and brave.

11. Do you blame the people for what they did to you?

A. No. There were misunderstandings all around.

12. Will you be available for further questions at a later date?

A. Yes, most definitely! I plan to be here for a long time to come!

Our interview next time is with Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. There is still time to get some questions in if you like; and let us know who you would like to see in future issues. We also need personal experiences for our UFO column. If you have had an encounter of any type, do send them in.
Due to a shortage of funds there will be no free special editions in the coming year. We regret this change in policy, but it has become necessary. We will try to include short articles in the magazine to contain the material that was intended for the special editions. There may be some larger special editions for which a modest donation will be required. These will be announced as they come out.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank our friends for their holiday greetings, and wish them a happy and prosperous new year!

Declaration Of Spiritist Religion
What A Spiritist Believes

3. A Spiritist believes that physical contact between male and female is appropriate and even beneficial, but that contact between persons of the same sex is abnormal.

* * *

A Spiritist believes that sexual relations between a man and a woman is not only natural, but desirable for the body, the mind, and the soul. Sex is not merely for reproduction, but is a means that nature has provided for a man and a woman to balance each other. The soul energy of a male is positive, that of a female is negative. When they join together, they become one, cleansing each other of impurities and driving out bad vibrations. This is normal and natural. However, relations between two males or two females is unnatural. The cleansing and balancing effect does not take place, making those individual souls unstable and a danger to those around them.
