John Lennon's Salute To The Army

There had to be another email this morning! Sometimes you're hit with something out of the clear blue sky that takes your socks off, that just blows you away! There have been very few Beatles & Friends concerts in The Afterlife because John Lennon has been so busy, but there was one last night. During it John asked if there were any requests. A young soldier rose in the audience and said "Sir, you've written a song for the troops in Iraq, you've written a song for The Marines. We know people are critizing your work in the material realm. People on this forum thing are calling it crap. But we love it, sir! Will you please write a song for The Army, sir, write a song for us? Please, sir? We would really appreciate it, sir! I speak for every soldier in The Afterlife." John stared at the young man for a few moments, put down his guitar, and went over to his piano, sat down, and began to play music very similar to one of his songs in the material world, and he sang the song below. There was absolute silence while he did so. When he was done he rose, went back, picked up his guitar, and said "How's that, soldier? Is that what you had in mind?" The soldier could barely speak. He was trembling. But he finally managed "Yes sir! God bless you, sir! Thank you, sir! That's exactly what we had in mind! It's beautiful, sir!" Beatles & Friends finished the concert and The Afterlife simply went wild! Let the people on The Jimmy Kimmel Forum make fun of this! Let them say it's crap! We don't care! If nobody else likes it we do! We wish someone would post it there and say "To hell with you! We like this!" We can't, but we wish somebody would. It's going to take Linda a while to come up with some music. Of course we can't use anything that John did in the material world. But as soon as possible we will record it. If you like it, please let other people know about it! It's a gift of love to those who served our country.

1. He walks the streets of Heaven
a crown upon his head,
People salute him
for all the things he did.
Some they call him soldier,
others say GI,
But he fought for his country,
and for what he loved he died.

2. They come to give him honor,
They come to praise his name.
But he says "I wasn't special. I always was afraid.
I just did my duty
when I heard the call!
I was in The Army
Like my brothers, one and all.

3. But the people they praise him,
though he was afraid,
He went into the battle
and served his land that day.
As others fell around him
he tried and gave his all!
Yes, he was a soldier,
with the bravest of them all!

4. Some say they are not heroes,
they made no special stand.
But they fought for their country
when other people ran.
Yes he was a soldier,
he'll always be Our pride!
We'll salute him forever
with tears in our eyes.

5. A son will come and greet him
that he has never seen,
And say "How glad I am to meet you!
You were always in my dreams!
Yes, you were my hero,
I proudly bear your name!
And I have been a soldier
to carry on your dream!"

6. Yes, he was our hero,
No matter what his name!
Whatever faith he carried
he did proudly, without shame.
And at The Gates Of Heaven
They saluted him with pride.
God said "Welcome Home, my soldier,
the one who bore my pride!

7. Soldiers of The Army
we salute you, one and all!
Yes, you are Our honor,
because you gave your all.
Whatever were the battles
they said you couldn't win.
There you did Our Glory
and saved the world again!

8. Here's to The Army!
Here's to Our pride!
As long as there's a nation
don't let their honor die!
Here's to The Army!
Forever
you're Our pride!

Here's to The Army!
Forever you're Our pride!
