Saturday Elgard took us to our favorite restaurant for supper, and Gerald got to play peek a boo with a little boy who was with his family and kept peeking at him around his mother, which of course, made the evening for Gerald! And then we went for a nice ride in the country, and the country around here is beautiful! It's good to get out of Bismarck for only a few minutes sometimes, and let it recharge. Drawing energy from different areas is very beneficial to us. But Gerald couldn't help think that if he was successful and became President we wouldn't be able to do things like this any more. Everywhere we'd go there would have to be flocks of secret service agents with us. And don't let anybody think in any way we're saying anything against them! They do a great job! They put their life on the line every day for the president! But not being able to simply go out to your favorite restaurant would be a real pain! There is a price for everything. That is the basic part of spiritist teachings, and to do the good that God wants us to do this would be part of the price that we would have to pay.
We were also kidding around about what position Elgard would have in Gerald's administration. He has many talents! But we don't know exactly where he would fit. He says he would not want to leave North Dakota and live in Washington, but God thinks if the position was important enough and the pay was good enough, he would come. We could certainly use an executive assistant for Linda to help her maintain the web sites and do our other work while Gerald is carrying on the duties of president. We don't know if the government would pay for something like that though. But maybe if Gerald was president his books would be in the bookstores, our music would be on CDs, our videos on DVDs and we wouldn't have to worry about paying him ourselves!
It has been noted that for years we have opposed federal matching funds, and it was wondered if we should take them in our campaign. Gerald really did not want to do this but God said "Look! For many elections those who are trying to sodomize Our children, and those who are trying to keep women from having abortions have been getting federal matching funds. It's about time somebody that supported God's views in these matters got some of these funds! Then after you get elected you can do all in your power to make sure that no presidential candidate will ever be elected using tax funds, again, or, any candidate anywhere, for that matter! But if it's legal and other people have been doing it for years, you have just as much right to do it!" Gerald still does not like the idea very well, but he sees God's point of view, and if the funds are available, and his people can earn them, he will use them! It's only fair. If others have used them against God, someone has a right to use them for God!
These things are moving so quick! The Spiritual Action Committees working in the southern states already have their own campaign song! Teddy Roosevelt started singing "True Dixie" and substituted the line in the chorus that goes "For right and truth in Dixie!" to "I'll vote for Polley in Dixie!" Within hours it was passed to all the committees in the other southern states! And now they're all singing it! Music is our greatest weapon!
