Right To Sue

Here is the correct link to the Bismarck Tribune article with our postings underneath it using the name spiritist. We apologize for any confusion! We could use some back up! We've been answering some of the comments on the bottom of the page and they've started the old bullshit, "These people at the radio stations only call you to laugh at you! You're just a big joke!" We'd sure appreciate it if some of the people that call us would write in and say "Hey, people! The Polleys are our friends! We enjoy talking to them and our listeners love having them on. Of course it'll do nothing to shut these people up, they'll just keep right on raving! But we'd just enjoy it!

In Thursday's "Here's Jesus!" we have two important questions. The first is from April, 2,003, "If The Kingdom Of God was at war with The United States, couldn't it just obliterate them? After all God created the world!" and a new one, "What is wrong with celibacy?" This one shouldn't be missed!

We've been asked what The Kingdom Of God feels about a church being ordered by a judge to pay millions to the family of a marine because they protested at his funeral opposing homosexuality. The Kingdom Of God agrees that this is inappropriate. They do not approve in any way, of disrupting funerals. Funerals are sacred and not a time for protesting. Those that disturb them should be arrested and imprisoned. Misguided people will do stupid things. Look at the anti abortion protesters who kill doctors in the name of life! There's some twisted logic! But The Kingdom Of God feels the settlement is excessive. A million dollars in any of these situations would be quite sufficient. Tens of millions are just a ridiculous gesture that will later be set aside by another judge. It will be part of Gerald's campaign to limit such settlements, that in any situation a suing party would only be able to get a million dollars in damages plus their lawyers' fees. And this million dollars would be untaxable.
Gerald would also seek legislation requiring that this million dollars be put in a trust and that the people receive a check from that trust each month, that this trust would be an inheritance for their children that could be passed down generation after generation and again not be taxable, only the income from the trust could be taxable. This would keep people from making frivilous lawsuits to get millions of dollars that they can spend immediately, but would still permit people to sue and receive a proper settlement when they have been wronged. The Kingdom Of God wants some sensibility put back in the system! And, too, The Kingdom Of God wants the law changed so that someone that is sued does not have to be in the court when the case is heard, they can merely send a letter to the judge explaining their stand on the issue, the judge can hear the rest of the evidence, and decide in whoever's favor he thinks is right even if they're not there. This would keep innocent people from being tied up in the courts with countless nuisance lawsuits. We really need a lawyer experienced in these things to help us present them in the proper way so people would understand what we're talking about. If any of our talk show friends have a lawyer on discussing legal matters, we would enjoy their opinions on these ideas. The United States has gone sue crazy, so much so, that legitimate lawsuits are often buried and court dockets are filled up with absolute nonsense! We must cleaar the system so those that have real grievances can be heard.
Well, Gerald's going to have to say he agrees with a Democrat, Dennis Kucinich, who says he's seen a UFO! Gerald has seen several of them and anybody that says there's nothing out there is out of their minds! To think that we're the only life in this vast universe shows real tiny egos, or, huge ones, whatever way you want to look at it! But there's no question we're not alone. Of course, some of these things can be explained. Gerald saw a shooting star the other night. That's a natural phenomena and a spactacularly beautiful one. But there's no question that some of the things being seen aren't natural phenomenas, and we have to deal with realism. Those people that want to believe that this little speck of rock floating in space holds the only intelligent life, just life in a totally irrational world and we can't share their disbelief.
We cannot believe that there is a debate rather or not some of the noose incidences happening around the country are legitimate pranks or hate crimes! It really disturbs us when some people use the idea of pranks to commit unquestioned hate crimes! Anyone that puts a noose up anywhere suggesting that a colored person should be hung has committed a hate crime, rather they think it is an hilarious joke or not! They should be charged and should go to prison for the minimum of a year, rather they are teenagers or adults! The symbol of a noose is simply too disturbing to people of color. It brings back years of horror of lynchings and other injustice, and anyone that thinks putting one up is a practical joke is seriously disturbed and should be required to seek counselling. Pranks are going too far! They have become a sick part of our culture, and the tolerance of them has to end!
