An Open Letter From Jesus Of Nazareth, Called The Christ
To President George W. Bush

Most Sincere Greetings!

Demetrius tried to read the bailout legislation but didn't really have time. But I must tell you, it will not work, not without Our support. There are some principles that God wants in it that must be in it, must be guaranteed before We will support it, before it will be allowed to succeed.

First of all, and most importantly, the bailout money is not to go to the companies themselves. It is to go to the mortgage holders in the form of no interest loans, to the people that are in the most difficulty. And they will be required only to pay what they can on the principle until they are able to get back on their feet, or, until they sell their homes. When they sell their homes and the loan is paid off, the government shall get 10% of any profit. This is only reasonable. But the main purpose of this bailout should be to help the individual citizens that are in distress.

Secondly, banks and other lending institutions shall change all floating interest loans to fixed interest loans at a reasonable rate, that people holding mortgages can afford to pay. They will do this without charging the loanees any fees, whatsoever. They will simply send them a letter saying that they now have a fixed interest loan, and what their payments will now be. And if necessary, if they can show that their circumstances are dire, they may, for a time, have their interest frozen, and be required only to pay on the principle until such time as they are financially stable again and can pay the interest. Banks should assist in helping people find financial counseling to help them better manage their money. But the greed that is dominating financial institutions at this time must be brought to an end, and the people treated with decency, and not just used to enrich the executives of the banks.

Thirdly, God wants a moratorium on all corporate bonuses except for those in the lower income levels for a period of five years. In addition, He wants all corporate executives making over two million dollars a year to take a fifty per cent pay cut for the period of the next five years. In addition, henceforth, no higher executive of any company shall be paid more than a million dollars a year. No middle executive shall make more than half a million dollars a year. And no lower executive more than a quarter of a million dollars a year. This shall be required of all companies in order for them to receive any bailout assistance. Individuals who privately own companies would be exempt from these regulations, as the income from these companies would be their private resources and not the property of the stockholders. But if a company goes public, its executives must agree to abide by these rules. God says, and I agree with Him, and so does Demetrius, any executive that cannot get by on a million dollars a year and other perks that accompany offers such as free company cars, and reduced rents in company properties should not be an executive. Because they have no financial common sense. Demetrius could live for the rest of his life, and live very well on the salary of one of these executives. The wages some of these people are making are simply absurd! No one is worth what they are being paid.

But most of all, and most important of all, none of these funds are to be give always, they are to be loans that will eventually be repaid one way or another, either by the renting of foreclosed properties, or by the paying off of the debts. The money shall be returned to the general funds and pay off the national debt. No company is to be given outright grants. God forbids it. They have to take responsibility. I tell you clearly, and without doubt, if this bailout proposal does not include these principles We will not support it, and it will fail. It is that simple. This is what God wants. He believes it is what the people want, and He believes it is what is fair. We might be willing to hear some proposals if Demetrius is invited to Washington, but these basic principles will not be changed. The people must be put first, the people in the lowest part of society, not the few privileged at its top, no matter how special they consider themselves. Because God does not consider most of them very special at all.

Boom And Bust

As we have so much information from other worlds, can't we explain these economic cycles? Isn't it common? Well, to tell you the absolute truth, no! None of The Old Races went through this type of up and down financial crisis that seems to plague mankind. Probably because We had nothing comparable to the stock market, or futures trading. These would have been totally unacceptable to Us, virtually considered gambling. Our financial markets were stable. There were some declines as old industries were phased out for new ones, but none of these things that seemed to happen on Earth. Housing prices were not higher in one place than another. Apartments in the smallest communities cost virtually the same as those in major cities. The prices of private homes were just about the same everywhere. When they rose in one area they rose correspondingly in another. We simply do not understand what is happening on Earth, neither do Our extra terrestrial friends. Yet We don't know if Our systems would work here. It is a very difficult problem! The change would be profound.
