SO SADLY, YOU'RE RIGHT!
By Gerald A. Polley
I'm dictating this story while we're caring for the soul of Caylee Anthony, the little girl who was murdered in Florida. This is one of the most horrendous situations we have ever been involved in! She is amazed by the number of people that have crossed my path as the years have gone by. There are so many stories I can't remember them all! But we were talking about lesbians I have known at work and it brought back the memory of a lady that had visited me one day. I was working at a restaurant that did a lot of high level functions, and one day we had a big anti gay group there. I was working the pots and pans as usual, when I noticed a lady come into the kitchen and speak to the manager. He pointed towards me and she came over. "Good day Rev. Polley!" she remarked. "I have read your material and am absolutely fascinated by it. I just had to come by and speak to you. I hope you're not offended. Though I am with this anti gay group I am a lesbian. I am speaking out against others that are. I liked very much your comments that it is not a matter of consenting adults, that women engaged in these practices should not be allowed to keep children."
I was rather taken back, and remarked "You're going to have to explain that to me, because I definitely don't get that reaction from most lesbians!"
The woman smiled. "Well, perhaps if I tell you my story," she continued, "you will understand. You see, I had a lover. We lived together for five years. I thought it the most meaningful relationship that I had ever been involved in, and she seemed to treasure my daughters. Then my eight year old got sick. We rushed her to the hospital and the doctors explained that they would have to immediately operate to find out what was wrong. I waited in the hospital but my lover made excuses and departed. A couple of hours later the doctors came back and told me that my daughter had a massive internal infection, that they had had to remove all of her sexual organs, that she would never have children, that she was coming out of the anesthesia and begging for me. I went to the recovery room and asked her if anyone had ever done anything to her. She told me my girlfriend had been using a shampoo bottle. The doctor told me he would have to call the police, and I asked him to do me a favor and wait half an hour. I rushed home. I found my lover putting suitcases in her car and boxes with her personal belongings. I grabbed her, threw her into my car, and drove out into the woods. I hauled her out of the car, took a baseball bat out of my trunk, (I played in a softball league) and proceeded to beat her mercilessly. They said I broke about every bone in her body, including two places in her spine, leaving her paralyzed. I left her there in the woods, calling the police at a pay phone telling them where she was. I then got my other daughter, drove her to my mother and told her she would have to take care of her for awhile, and waited for the police. I was arrested, plead no contest, and got five years. I served 2 1/2. While I was in prison my lover mysteriously rolled out in front of a truck in her wheelchair and was killed. Ever since I got out I have been traveling around the country supporting every anti gay group I can find, and telling them the same thing that you wrote in your letter. Lesbians and homosxuals should not be allowed to keep children. Their partners simply cannot be trusted, no matter how much they believe in them. So you can see why I support you."
"Wow!" I answered, "I guess so! I hear so many tragic stories that have occured as a result of these adult relationships, so many children have been damaged by the insanity! I'm so very glad you speak out! And I wish for you the very best. Hopefullly some day you'll find a man that can fulfill your needs even though you have other desires."
The woman smiled. "I've had several offers," she remarked. "Sometimes I wish so much I would be tempted! Maybe some day! Unfortunately at this time there's not the slightest interest. Sometimes even when you're not practicing something any more you still can't accept the alternative. Thank you for talking to me! I've enjoyed it. You're a very interesting person! I hope some day you'll awaken your people and return to the stars. But you probably won't be taking any lesbians."
I laughed. "We might not on purpose," I assured her, "but we undoubtedly will! There are bound to be a few quietly doing their thing among us, as there will be men doing theirs. We are realists. We know we cannot escape the truth, that there will always be a few, even in the best of societies!" The woman smiled again, and departed. Yes, I have met some very interesting people, heard some incredible stories. Sometimes I wish so much I was wrong about some things! Once in a while I wish that very much!
