Jennifer sighed and muttered "Yes sir!" She completed the afternoon's work and went home, undressed and admired her body in the mirror. "I'm going to miss this!" she muttered. Sighing she laid down on the bed. In a few moments her spiritual form was thousands of miles away. She approached a man working in a kitchen. Before she even made her presence known he remarked "Hello, Jennifer! Problem?"
Jennifer laughed. "Yes, master!" she answered, "You're going to have to destroy my present form. They want to send me to infiltrate your organization, to provide you with financial resources but to set you up so the civil authorities will shut you down. There's no way I can get out of it. My supervisor is insistant, and he has to much information on my old life. I have become useless to you."
Jennifer's master smiled. "Your supervisor's being taken care of," he remarked. The operation will be canceled tomorrow, though I would love to have that lucious body of yours around."
"Master," Jennifer moaned, "you promised you'd never ask me to do that."
"Yes," her master laughed, "I did, and I never break my promises. But you know just dealing with your supervisor might not be enough. I've been thinking of another solution for this little problem. We've stored up enough power for me to take a little jaunt without doing any harm, especially with you to help. Come on!"
Her master left his physical form taking on the shape of a winged being. In moments they were in the room of a hospice. Another spiritual being was there. When Jennifer's master entered, he bowed. "Your services won't be required," her master commented. "You may be about other business. I will deal with this matter personally."
The being smiled, bowed, and snapped "As my Lord commands!" and disappeared. The master walked over to the man lying on the bed breathing with a respirator.
"Well! It's been a while," he commented. "Enjoying the little prison I put you in, watching the soap operas and game shows and reality tv the nurses like? It's time to move you to another body. This one's about to expire. But you may have heard, we've got a lot of problems right now, we need a lot of help, and we're making some pretty good deals. How would you like to have a nice body, a healthy, a mobile one for the rest of your time on Earth, and a chance to have eternal life? If you agree blink your eyes twice. Of course I know there's no possibility that if you accept the agreement you'll ever betray me."
The man on the bed blinked twice. "Good!" the master snapped. "This is gonna hurt. Sorry about that, but there's nothing for it.
He extended his hand and drew the man's soul out of the body and shrunk it down to a small, silver ball. "Let's go!" he instructed.
A few moments later they were in Jennifer's supervisor's expensive apartment. He lay on the livingroom floor, sprawled out, his mouth was full of foam. He had obviously wet himself, and, something else. A hypodermic needle lay on the coffee table near him.
"Well!" Jennifer's master remarked, "Here, hold this. I've got to do a little work here." He handed Jennifer the man's soul. Petrified, she took it. Her master then extended his hand. Blue energy came from it, surrounded her supervisor's body, and lifted it off the floor. For several moments it shivered in it, and then fluid began to come out of it and gather into a ball. Slowly the body sank back to the floor and began to breathe. Jennifer's master took the ball of fluid to the bathroom. She heard a swoosh and then the toilet flush. "Woo!" her master remarked "I wish we weren't able to smell through them! Incredible the amount of poisons that build up in the human body. But that cleaned him out! I'll take that now."
He took the man's soul back and put it into the body on the floor. It convulsed for a few moments, stopped, and then got up. "Ooh!" the man moaned. "I've got all this guy's memories. I thought I was a jerk! I suppose you want me to get rid of his friends."
"Just put them out of the organization," Jennifer's master answered, "so they're of no threat to me. Tell them to behave themselves and there'll be no problems. Oh, and marry her. She'll identify herself. She'll simply say 'I'm the one.' Build a relationship, take a little time. Gotta go! Don't have too much power. Can only work for short periods of time. Behave, we won't have a problem! Bye!"
Jennifer's master disappeared. "I better go too," she remarked. "But we'll talk tomorrow. I'd clean up."
"Right!" the man answered. "Does he frighten you?"
"Absolutely terrifies me!" Jennifer answered. "But he keeps his word, and that's what matters."
She faded away and woke up in her body. "Oh, damn!" she muttered, "There's going to be babies. Oh well. Maybe with this guy it won't be that bad if master wants it. What power! They laugh at him, and what power! Maybe he is a goody goody but what power!"
