It really gets confusing sometimes when you have traditions from so many societies. Everybody wants to do things in different ways! Now, as Spiritists we follow the Hashon tradition that the day begins at nightfall, which has become part of the Hebrew tradition. But if We had gone by the Haven tradition the day would begin at noon. That was considered the zero hour, when time began again. It was The Peepians that began their day at midnight. It is really odd how the traditions of the different races filtered into the human consciousness and created those that We have today. But such things really don't matter all that much. People simply like to follow their own ways. When The Spiritist Republics begin We will go back to a twenty hour days and a five-hundred day year, because it is Our tradition to keep time no matter where We are, according to that that was on Hades. With the little problem We have with the old Empire, strangely They're not fighting Us on this, and have agreed that no matter where We go Our time will always be the same. Some people say "Won't this be confusing?" No, not really. We'll have a seasonal calander, 365 days for planting and all that stuff, but all documents will be dated according to the Hashon calendar. The farmers will probably be the only ones that will worry about the other one. Of course some holidays will be observed according to the old calendar. You couldn't have The 4th Of July every 500 days.
