We would like to think Betsy Daggett for the column headings that she so graciously donated. We think they are excellent and we are glad she finshed them before her current troubles.

NOTE: The above mentioned topic headings are shown here, below, but won't be featured in each on line back issue to save space.

REINCARNATION
THE ESSENSE OF LIFE
By; Joel Bjorling

If I may share from my own spiritual understanding, because of a God-given soul, we have continued existence. I don't think that continued spiritual existence hinders a belief in God, but it testifies to God and to God's existence. The foundation of faith is not destroyed, but enhanced.
My reason for believing in life after death is because I believe there is a basic Essence of life which enables bodies to live and for physical processes to function. This Essence has personality, or, "an awareness of being, " because being is essential to its character. When this Essence becomes a part of us, we "live". (Part of us, in a physical sense, that is, hence we live as a physical person.) Thus, when we leave this body--or die--the Essence of what we are, which is also a reflection of that Greater Essence, of Source, of being, continues to exist.
I believe that this Greater Essence contains within itself all aspects of life and being, and we comprehend these aspects of being as truth.
Truth, then, as received from this Greater Essence, is the basis of revelation. I must note that when I think of "God", I'm not speaking of a Christian God, a Jewish God, or Buddhist God, but God, The Supreme Being, The Great Essence, The Great Spirit, the all that is. God has been revealed through all religions, yet is the Source of All Being, has no beginning or end--is eternal--, we, too, have continued existence because of this.

**SPECIAL ANNOUNCEMENT**
By; Speaker Gerald Polley

With this Special Edition we must make a special announcement.
After the upcoming regular issue in July, you may see some changes in VOICES. As many of you know, I have recently changed jobs. I was working 55-60 hours a week, and most of what I made over our living expenses, went into VOICES, and our other religious projects.
However, at my new job, though I will be making slightly more per hour, I will only be getting 32-35 hours per week, which will barely cover our living expenses. I cannot however, seek other work to earn more money as Spirit insists I now devote more of my time to Their Work, and continue many of the projects They want done, because many of Their children suffer from my lack of attention.
If my calculations are near correct, we will have a $1,000 shortfall between my income and needs in the next 5-6 months.
We have some reserve funds, but these are already tied to projects in the works, and must be held on to. Therefore we will have to cut back.
VOICES will continue to be published, but there will be some changes. The cover picture, which many enjoy, will have to give way to articles and internal artwork will have to be cut to a bare minimum. The popular "Improper Channel" column will be dropped, and "Imagination's Place." The Poetry Space will be limited to one per issue. Several remaining columns such as "The Wiccan Corner" and "The Spiritualist Connection will be alternated between issues.
We regret these changes and if funds permit, we will make as few of them as possible. But the shortfall must be cut, and VOICES must operate on those funds provided by its friends and subscribers.
Thank you for your love and understanding.
