This is an interview with the Spirit of one of the most famous and atttractive
women in the history of American stage and films, Mae West. Her words are
channeled through Speaker Linda J. Polley, and the questions were provided
by Speakers Gerald and Linda J. Polley.
1. Is it true you were the reincarnation of Catherine The Great Of Russia?
A. Well, to tell you the truth, I believe someone made an unlucky guess.
Probably it was wishful thinking on their part! It's a wonder they didn't
say I was The Queen Of Sheba!
2. Do you believe that your mother brought you up properly, or do you feel
you were spoiled too much?
A. She did the best she could under the circumstances. I believe she was
a wonderful mother, but there could have been a bit more discipline involved.
3. What was it like working with W.C. Fields?
A. Hmmmm...like a bumpy ride on a roller coaster. You could take it or
leave it! No, I'd say, very interesting. He was a dear man, for all his
faults. We got along rather well, and became...mmmm...very close - how would
you say?- Friends. Though we did have our arguments like anyone else working
together. There was a clash of personalities, usually on the set.
4. Why didn't you ever fire your manager if you felt he was too strict about
your lovers?
A. Why look a gift horse in the mouth? Anyway you don't come across a good
man every day. They're hard to find. There's good and there's GOOD, if you know what I mean.
5. What is your true opinion of men now?
A. The more the marrier, I alwys say! Come on up and see me sometime, boys!"
6. Didn't you ever worry that you might become pregnant?
A. Once and a while, but it was usually an afterthought.
7. What are your comments on women's rights?
A. Sock it to 'em, girls! Give 'em all you got. If you don't, nobody else
will!
8. What are your comments on abortion?
A. If it wasn't here to begin with, it wasn't here; the baby that is, girls.
Just do it and don't worry about it. But not just for foolish reasons mind
you, or over and over again. Keep your health in mind. It's your future,
too, you need to think about. Take precautions. Don't make yourself need
abortions, but in difficult situations they're a good thing. Make sure you're
emotionally mature enough to handle it, before you go ahead. It should be
available for emergency situations only, but before you go to bed, use your
head. Protection is the key against unwanted babies and diseases.
9. What do you do now in The Spirit World?
A. What I've always done, and more of it!
10. What were your first words when you got to The Spirit World?
A. "Where am I? They said it would be good, but not THIS good!" (I said
the latter after seeing the attractive male doctor and some of my old friends
waiting for me.
11. Do you prefer younger or older men?
A. All ages. I don't play favorites; as long as they're attractive and
have a good personality I like 'em.
12. What did you learn from your psychic friend?
A. The dos and dont's of spirituality. Though he edited out most of the
dos, and gave me most of the don'ts.
13. Will you be able to come back for more questions later?
A. Sure! I'm always available.
14. If you could write a play or a film now, what subject would you write
about?
A. I would like to create a female role model for this day and age. Someone
that the girls would like to be that would teach them right from wrong without
them knowin' it, and how to have fun the safe way.
