MY PROOF OF SURVIVAL
By; Linda Wesley

I have had, for the longest time, a deep fear of what is on the other side of death. On the day my grandmother died, the telephone rang. I woke up from a deep sleep as my mother was walking down the hallway, and started crying. I caught my mother just as she reached the phone, and told her not to answer it. She asked why. I said "Your mother's dead." My mom said to stop being so silly, and to stop crying. I turned and walked to the hallway entrance. Just as I got there my mother screamed "God, no!" then she started to cry.
That night I was in bed, still numb from shock and heard this voice. I sat up and there was my grandmother! She didn't move, nor did her lips move, but she promised me that when it was time for me to die, she'd come back for me. She said I would not be alone. At that moment, and from that point, I have not feared death."
