THE PSYCHICS SPEAK

Interview with Herb Dewey, from last issue continues.

2. How did others react...family and friends, when you started to show abilities outside what is considered the norm?

A. It is written somewhere in the Bible, and I can't remember where, that a prophet is never known in his home town, or, a prophet is never recognized, and I can't remember where from the Bible that comes, but I think it is true among family and friends. You can blow people away, you can amaze people, you can make predictions, you can do all of these things, and most of the country would be in awe of you, but yet your family will not be in awe of you. So, as far as close family and friends, they felt that I was a little off beat, or off the wall, or marching to the beat of a different drummer. And most times it would create some hostility rather than anything else.
I was not The Pied Piper creating followers, but rather it was just creating animosity. And if I was to somehow know what Christmas present was given to me before it was opened, and I stated that fact, then I was probably creating some animosity among the people that had given me that present. So that others reacted sometimes with scorn, sometimes with insecurity, sometimes with just anger; but very, very rarely with awe.

3. Do you think your abilities are a gift that were given you, or do you feel they are abilities your eternal spirit learned over a passage of time?

A. The seed was planted, yes. I would say yes to the second half of the question, my eternal spirit. I believe that some of us are born with a negative entity in us, and a positive entity. The positive entity the positive people absorb all positive strokes, so all positive seeds planted. Inconversely, the negative people absorb the negative seeds. But I feel that as far as the abilities the basic abilities were given to me. I think that they were always there, I think that I've always had them in previous incarnations, as well. And in each incarnation I get stronger than in each incarnation before.

4. Can you give our readers your conception of God? Do you believe God to be an actual physical Being, Natural Law, or something in-between?

A. I'd say Natural Law or something in-between. I think that the Bible probably has more psychic goings on in it, and psychic behavior, and psychic sooth in the Bible than any other publication I've ever read. But I see God, or I see Buddah, or I see a Higher Being or a Higher self as something between a Natural Law in a Higher Self. I think that we create our own Hell on Earth. I believe there is a Higher Being. I don't necessarily think that it is Jesus Christ. I have a great respect for things written, of spiritual things, but I can't really sahy that I am a believer in God, as it is so stated. but I do believe there is a Higher Power, a Higher Consciousness.

5. What is your opinion on the male and female relationship? Do you believe men and women should be judged on an equal basis?

A. I think that men and women should be judged on an equal basis, yes, but that in the field of metaphysics women are much more sensitive, and much more talented than any man. If I were to fill Yankee Stadium with 50,000 psychics, half male and half female, you'd find the most concise feelings would come from females.
I'm not a believer in female's liberation, but I am a believer that females should walk hand and hand beside the males, and not ten paces behind. I believe there should be more women in government and corporations. I believe there should be more women in all fields of endeavor. But I think that within the metaphysical field, the women are much more talented, and much more sophisticated in their feelings. They are much more able to take a metaphysical risk. Women should be judged equally, but I feel that they most certainly outshine men within the metaphysical sense.

6. What are your thoughts on evolution?

A. I think that at one time we were apes, or we were monkeys, or that we're...all that I can think of is that people should read 'Clan Of The Cave Bear' by Jane Arl. 'Clan Of The Cave Bear' does a pretty good job writing about evolution. Butg I think that our brains have become modified and made better. And I'm not...I want to make a point to you, Reverend, that I am not particularly an educated person, Ido not possess a masters in anything or a PhD in anything, and basically I am a high school graduate and that is it and a veteran of four years in the navy. But I don't know a great deal of many things, other than what I sense, what I feel.
