Between us and that place of being we long for lie all the NOT O.K. words,
actions, feelings, thoughts, beliefs, and knowledge that populate our world.
We can fight each one or forgive them and proceed to our goal of inner/outer
peace and giving/receiving unconditional love.
When we fight the NOT O.K.s, we must keep them and keep them NOT O.K. to
keep proving how "right," "smart," "good," "O.K." we are. When we forgive
them, love heals and what remains is O.K.
One technique for forgiving on the subconscious level is to write a sentence
such as "It's O.K. to be unhappy," over at least 50 times. Be aware of the
different thoughts, emotions, physical sensations experienced as it is written
over and over and notice at which point a deep breath or sigh is suddenly
taken and a feeling of happiness is experienced.
For the next NOT O.K., start doodling a circle and tell yourself that the
circle stands for the sentence. Just let the hand draw the circles. Doodling
will take you down memory lane. As thoughts change, so will the size and
intensity of the doodling. What took perhaps years to forgive, took hours
to think or talk out, and took minutes to write, may now take seconds to
start, pinpoint and forgive.
A wonderful part of this type of forgiving is that, as mental broadcasting
stations we send out this forgiveness to anyone in the world who wishes to
accept the forgiveness as well.
As this is the first real issue of The New Year, we thought it was time to
let everyone know how VOICES is doing.
Our circulation is small, but apparently the issues that go out are passed
around, because we get many inquiries from persons not on our mailing list,
and our circulations is growing, which pleases us. Our expenses this year
were $1,367.13, where our income was only $906.30. This left us with a deficit
of $460.00, the smallest we have had in years! Therefore, we are extremely
grateful to our contributors who have made it possible for me to keep going.
We are in hopes, in years to come, of breaking even, or finding outside sponsorship
to support our work. But as of now, we consider things are going fairly
well.
