CHOICES

There are times in everyone's lives when we are presented with choices. It seems that the easiest choices should be between right and wrong, but this is not always so, as we sometimes have to choose between our own principles and someone else's. When you love someone and are put in a position to choose between the person you love and their principles or beliefs or remain with your own principles and beliefs, but lose that person, it is a very hard decision, but one that in my mind there is no question as to the outcome. If you are strong enough in your own principles and beliefs and ideals there is no choice. For someone to ask you to make a choice like that is taking away your free will, and in my life the choice is automatically made, because nothing will stand in my way of beliefs and principles and ideals. I would not ask anyone to make a choice of that kind, that is not uncondition�al love, so in reality the choice has already been made when the question was asked. Noth�ing is ever lost, it only makes a transition to a different level. I was presented with what I felt was a hard choice, but in reality it was an answer, as it made me strong enough to stand up for my beliefs and has freed me to move to a different level. Never look at your choices as hard decisions, look at them as using your free will and gaining strength and growing spiritually.
NON-BELIEF
The right not to believe and protection from those that
believe is just as impor�tant as the right TO believe. The
Christian Fundamentalists, in their ever present goal to make
everyone exactly like them are beginning a new campaign against
those who do not believe in their God. There are many fighting
back against those who would push their desires and opinions on
everyone else.
Two groups currently fighting this battle are: American Atheists,
Inc., P.O. Box 140195, Austin, TX 78714, and;
Freedom From Religion, P.O. Box 750, Madison, WI 53701.
We had hoped to have some information on these groups and their
goals to be included with this issue. But we have as yet,
re�ceived no response from our inquiries.
We hope to give some more detailed in�formation in future
issues. In the meantime let these people know we of The Old
Faiths support them in their efforts to follow their own
conscience.
WASHINGTON, AS USUAL
In our last issue we published a copy of our letter to President Bush asking him to take concrete action against Communist China, because of their massacre of the students in Tienamen Square. We believe our opinions are shared by many Americans. What .has been The President's response? He recently sent repre�sentatives to China to further strengthen our trade agreements; in other words, rewarding the Chinese butchers for their cruelty. This Presidency may well surpass that of the Carter administration for its total lack of reality.
MENACE IN THE OCEANS
Even when man is not around his laziness and uncaringness
still threatens the wild�life of our seas and kills thousands of
in�nocent beneficial creatures every year. The latest threat
brought to our attention is plastic fishing nets that will not
break down, and float just below the surface of the sea for
years, continuing to kill fish and mammals long after they are
lost or dis�carded. A group called The Environmental Defense
Fund (their address is below) let us know about this appalling
situation. They are sponsoring legislation requiring
biodegradable netting that will break down when lost, and not
continue to kill. They are also trying to combat other lethal
plastics that unthinking and uncaring man�kind is dumping into
our seas. We strongly recommend you support them in these
efforts, for this world does not belong to us, alone, but to
every other creature that inhabits it. And it is our
responsibility not to waste their lives with our greed and
ignorance.

Recently a photograph was found in a Florida parking lot
showing two children bound and gagged, on a bed. When this
photo�graph was circulated it was discovered that these two
children had disappeared in Arizona some months before. Their
names are Tara and Mike. A reward fund has been established for
information leading to the arrest and con�viction of the
perverts that took these children. We have donated to it
ourselves, and ask all our readers to donate also. We must do all
we can to track down and punish sick individuals such as these,
who would take children from those who love them to fulfill their
own perverse desires. Do help in whatever little way you can. The
