RESPECT OF THE MESSAGE
By; Rev. Harold K. Wilson ''White Eagle"

"Now there are diversities of gifts but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh in all. But the manifestations of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the Word of Wisdom; to another faith by the same Spirit, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; to another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of Spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues; but all these worketh that one and the self-same Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will." 1 Corinthians, Chapter 12; 1-12.
It is very important for the new student as well as the long time worker, to never lose sight of "respect" of this beautiful gift. Herein we will touch on four of these areas that deserve and demand respect.
First, respect of God. We must realize that we were created in perfection and that everything we had, have, or will have on the material Earth plane, are on loan from God. We came into this world with our Spirit; into a material body, and when our journey is over we shall shed our material body and the Spirit shall return to whence it came. Proving that we can not take it with us for it is not ours. As we learn this first step, we need to also learn not to cling to the material but to strive upward and onward on our spiritual journey which is everlasting. In Phillippians Chapter 4; 11-12 "Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned both how to be abased, and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need."
Let us stop here and meditate on this question. How many people do I know in my life, who are learning during the period in their lives when they have no trials or tribulations? Very few people, when a project they undertake works out well, take time to look back on the project and analyze the same to see if maybe they could have done it better. No, I am sorry to say that most people learn lessons best when suffering.
As the prior two verses state, I learned how to be full and hungry. It is hard to appreciate the fulness of what we have unless we have experienced not having. Once we have not, we learn to respect what we have been given. And finally, to respect God from whom all blessings flow.
Secondly, respect of Spirit guides. I am always amazed at the number of people who seek out a medium for a reading and then deny everything they are told on the basis that they did not understand their message. If we have a particular answer we want, then why ask God or even take time to pray? We have already decided on the only answer we will accept. God and the Spirit World are not ignorant. It is an insult to reject after asking. Yes, we must test the Spirit, but asking the name of your cat or dog is as a circus like Barnum and Bailey. You will find, as you develop and use your gifts, that if you demand respect of Spirit and give them the respect in return, that you will be confident in your messages. Respect of Spirit also means not abusing them. If you have a problem in your own life, try to work it out. Do your part and put forth some effort. If then you can not figure it out, then ask Spirit for help. Do not use Spirit as a crutch. We know people who ask Spirit what grocery store to go to in order to buy kleenex. 'This is abusive. God and Spirit will help every second of your life if you learn not to abuse them.
Three, respect of the person receiving the message. Here again, the individual is a child of God just as you are. They have come to you as a medium, to try to receive some guidence into their life's path. They do not need judgments, your opinion, what you would do, etc. They need your blessings, God's wisdom, and some spiritual help. Give what you receive whether you have known the person for forty years or you have just met them for the first time. DO NOT INTERPRET.
If clarification is needed, let Spirit do it. For example: you receive an airplane in the sky headed your way. It could be someone coming to visit, a relative waiting to be recognized, a letter coming, their head in the clouds, or a hundred other fhings. Do not try to figure out unless Spirit clarifies. Here is yet another very tmportant fact. You have a life in your hands when working as a medium between the two worlds. You have to realize this and give the situation your highest respect. Remember not to give advice or particular path unless done so by Spirit. Your advice or path will be what you would do and may not blend with the other person's personality or abilities. They have to work out their trials and tribulations their own way. They may have all the guidence in both worlds, but unless they make their own decisions, it means nothing. WARNING: if you tell someone exactly how YOU would handle their problem and it does not work out, who faces the consequences? Do you pick up their cross and carry part of their load? All these things must be considered and realized when working as a medium.
And finally, four, respect of self. You are a medium. God has given to you to perfect the gift into the material world. You can not sell it. You can be selfish and set it down. You can deny it. You also are the only one who is responsible for what you do. You ask God for help in your life. The Father asked you to use your gifts to help His children. Have you answered positively?
We all want so much but in reality, give so little. You want others to respect you. Do you respect yourself? Are you honest within yourself? Do you abuse your body? Love starts at home. Love is not boastful.
Love, is kind. Love yourself enough to realize you are only a small part of the Infinite Creation and you will find that everyone is an important part. A wheel does not turn without a spoke, nor does a wagon move without a driver. We pray you think on these things that have been written. Strive to be the perfect lighthouse, standing tall, strong, and a beacon for all to see.
