THE SPIRITS SPEAK

This is an interview with the spirit of Merlin, friend or King Arthur. His answers are channeled by Speaker Gerald Polley, and Speaker Linda J. Polley provided the questions.

* * *

1. What psychic abilities did you have, and, what is the true story behind how you came by them?

A. Well, to the first part, I had an abundant curiosity as a child, and a knack for finding out what was going on in the area. This led me to find those proficient in the talents I possessed, and who could instruct me in their use. And, to the second part, 1ike everybody else, I was born with them!

2. How did you decide to live the lifestyle you did?

A. I don't think it was a matter of choice. I think it was one of those things where you just swim with the flow of the stream and find that's the easiest way to keep your head above water. And it was kind of fun, too, being the mysterious, fearsome wizard, who could turn his enemies into animals for the hunt! Little tales like that tended to keep your adversaries at a discreet distance.

3. Did the legend of The Sword & The Stone really happen, and if so, what part did you have to play in it?

A. A great deal. And let's just say for the sake of history we'd better leave that be. A simple little conjuring trick can get carried away in the telling until it becomes something of gigantic proportions, totally beyond its true significance.

4. Is it true what some stories say, that you turned Arthur into different animals to teach him about life?

A. Of course not! But I did use examples from nature to instruct him, and I think this legend grew out of him constantly speaking of these lessons to others.

5. Did you know EVERYTHING that was to happen to you and Arthur?

A. "EVERYTHING" is a big word. Let's just say I had a pretty good idea. I could read the flow of events quite well.

6. Did you really believe falling in love would mean 'the loss of your powers?

A. Love hinders any man's powers. Look what happened to Arthur!

7. What really happened to you after you left Camelot forever?

A. A peaceful retirement with a young lady onefourth my age, and, three children.

8. Was Camelot as wonderful as people believe? A. Hardly! It was a simple fortress of wood and earth, not even a castle, as people consider them now. But it was comfortable for its day, for both Lord and peasant. Unlike his predecessors, Arthur cared more about his subjects, not just his nobles.

9. What did you look like?

A. I wasn't an ugly man, nor was I extremely handsome. Let me just say average stature for my day not weak as some portray. I could hold my own with a sword, if need be, though I preferred a staff. I wasn't light haired. Some people of my time said my . features were womanly, but I did not consider it so.

10. Do you have any predictions for our readers?

A. Predictions ... I'm a little out of touch, though of course aware of what's been happening. Let me say this ... things in Europe have only begun to change. People are in for so~e surprises yet! And England, when it finally rids itself of its 'holier than thou' attitude, releases those lands it still holds by force, we will begin to regain a great deal of its prestige. I am getting ready to return and be a part of it all, soon.

11. Were you St. Germain?

A. No!

12. Why do you think minister Elizabeth Clare Prophet believed you were?

A. I believe she has picked up the vibration of The Bearers of Light, and as we all work for the same cause, and follow one-another through history, it is a very simple error to make, and of very little consequence, definitely not something to argue about!

13. Exactly what other liftimes have you had do you wish to tell about to clear up the matter?

A. Well, actually, I prefer to keep my lifetimes separate. For the two major ones known about I keep a secretary for each and appear as each at different functions. I find this far less confusing as each existence is a separate part of me, though an intricate part of the total. I find it far more convenient to keep them separate. What you know of this I do not desire you speak of.

14. What do you do now in The Spirit World?

A. Well, I think I have just mentioned that. I do alot of lecturing, personal appearances; very popular with all the royal courts who still function for their particular eras. I lead an interesting existence and I think I contribute to the good, as a whole. Of course I am active in the support of English freedom, and have my living agents which I counsel from time to time. Aside from that, I enjoy myself whenever possible.

15. Do you have any messages to give to our readers?

A. Yes. There is a little truth in all legends. But look for the substance, not just the glamour. Emphasize the good that was done, not just the heroics. For a man can be very heroic, and in the end accomplish very little! And for your life to be meaningful you must accomplish something, even if it is to help one person find the Path of Truth.

16. Did you help build Stonehenge?

A. I helped finish it. But most if it had already been done before I came along. I USED it alot, though. Marvelous observatory!
