"Maybe," Alex encouraged, "he's waiting for you
to say 'Please forgive me, give me another chance. Let me come
home.""
"THAT IS ENOUGH!" the woman's mother snapped. "My
daughter does not want to hear such nonsense!"
Alex stood up. The young woman did also. "Mother!" she
remarked. "Shut up! I'm going to go and speak with George.
You may come along if you wish, but if you do you will be civil!
Thank you, ma'am!" she continued to Alex, taking her hand,
"Thank you!"
She quickly left, her mother following with a dazed expression.
Alex and Francine smiled at each other. They finally got to see
the bailiffs. They, too, picked out The O'Shaughanesseys. They
hurried back to the safe house to report their findings.
Marshall Walker listened and nodded, then went to the map on the
wall, tapping it and thinking for some time.
