She headed back to her companions as the man shut the back of
the van. Suddenly several cars rolled in front of the warehouse
doors. Men poured out and started screaming "U.S. marshalls!
Texas rangers! Stay where you are! Don't move!"
All the men in the warehouse except for the shorter Asian woman
responded by pulling weapons and beginning to fire. The exchange
lasted for quite a while.
Cordell tried to follow the retreating Asian woman through the
warehouse, but the two taller ones fell back shielding their
companion. One of the warehouse men firing at Cordell missed and
hit is pistol, sending it flying. The two women quickly advanced
on him and a vicious struggle ensued with flying hands and feet.
In the meantime in the warehouse below the two men from the cargo
van made a mad dash for its open doors, got in and slammed them.
The rangers and marshalls poured fire at its windshield but the
bullets bounced off.
"The van's armored!" someone screamed, "It's
bullet proof!"
Marshall Walker on the far side of the warehouse, watched the van
back up and realized what it was going to do....ram through the
cars! He suddenly took off at a dead run, not for the van, but
for the door to the receiving office. As he flew through it, he
could hear the crash of vehicles behind him. He leaped the
counter and bolted out of the office door, heading for the
driveway!
