Got back to the hotel and rested a little. Tara came over with a
keyboard that the show had purchased especially for Linda to use.
It took us a while to figure out what music to use and how to set
the thing. Fortunately Tara was a little bit smarter than we
were, and figured out how to keep the settings when you turned it
off. We practiced and practiced! Fortunately there wasn't
anybody in the adjoining rooms. At 4 p.m. we were taken to the
studio for rehearsal. What an adventure! But it was a lot
of fun. Everybody was so helpful and so kind! We got the
song down pretty good, went back to the hotel, rested a little, and
went back to the studio about 7. We had a nice little dressing
room downstairs, right across from the make up room so we could see the
people coming and going. Gerald's legs were really bothering
him. The staff got us a meal from the restaurant next door.
Absolutely incredible burgers! We rested and finally they came
down and took us up back stage. We could see and hear on monitors
what was going on on the stage. They were showing a skit about
the star of a new Jesus movie and it was pretty funny. We thought
Jesus would be upset but He thought it was hilarious and just exactly
what we needed! This was no coincidence. We went out on the
stage, were greeted by Jimmy. We gave Jimmy a copy of George
Harrison's book, "Wow!" on a floppy disc. He asked us why we
didn't have a paper version yet and we explained we were working on a
publisher. Jimmy showed some pictures Linda had drawn of what had
been happening with John Lennon in The Afterlife, and we talked about
them. They did a commercial break, then we got up and sang.
You can't imagine what it is like for someone like Gerald with
dyslepsia to try to do anything in all that noise and confusion!
But we did quite well. Came back talked for a few minutes, then
the show was over. Everybody said what a wonderful job we had
done. We headed back to the hotel, got a good night's sleep and
took the plane home in the morning. What an adventure! But
of course the audience couldn't see everything that was going on!
While we were on the stage Mary Magdalene and Jesus were with us.
While we were talking with Jimmy Jesus was standing with his hand on
Jimmy's shoulder. There was one lady in the audience that was a
little exposed and Mary Magdalene positioned herself between Gerald and
her so Gerald wouldn't be distracted. See the pictures below.
