A Description Of A Kurt Cobain And The Wonders Concert In The Afterlife
We've been asked to give a description of what a Kurt Cobain And The Wonders concert is like, like we did for John Lennon's Beatles & Friends. Well, Kurt is doing a much simpler format than John used. Kurt does very little talking, himself. Judy Garland does the announcing. The concert starts with a dark stage. The lights come on on one side and Judy Garland comes out singing "Over The Rainbow." As she sings other areas of the stage light up and the rest of the performers come out, take their positions, and join in the song. When Judy gets done singing and the audience quiets down, Judy cries "Ladies and gentlemen, Kurt Cobain!" And Kurt goes into "Aneurysm".
When Kurt is done and the audience quiets down again, Kurt turns to Janis Joplin and says "Janis?" and she immediately goes into "Me And Bobby McGee."
When she is done Kurt turns to Mama Cass Elliot and says "Mama?" Mama Cass goes into "Dream A Little Dream Of Me."
When she is done, Kurt turns to Linda McCartney and says "Linda?" and Linda goes into a feminized version of Bruce Springsteen's "Glory Days."
When she is done, Kurt looks to John Coltrane and says "John?" Coltrane goes into a shortened version of his "My Favorite Things."
When he is done, Kurt turns to Carl WIlson, and says "Carl?" Carl goes into a rendition of "Do You Wanna Dance?"
When he is done, Kurt cries "Dennis?" and Dennis Wilson goes into a rendition of "Fun, Fun, Fun."
When he is done, Kurt looks to Charlie Parker and says "Charlie?" and Charlie Parker goes into a rendition of "Mood."
When he is done, Kurt turns to Al Hirt and says "Al?" Hirt goes into a rendition of "Stardust."
When this is completed, Kurt turns to Bryan Harvey and says "Bryan?" who goes into a rendition of Led Zeppelin's "We Gotta Groove."
Then the process is repeated except Kurt sings first doing "Even In His Youth."
Then Judy Garland does "The Trolley Song."
Janis Joplin does "Mercedes Benz."
Mama Cass does "Grandfather's Clock."
Linda McCartney does a feminized version of "Dancin' In The Dark."
John Coltrane does "Alabama."
Carl WIlson does "Good Vibrations."
Dennis Wilson does "I Get Around."
Charlie Parker does "Ko-Ko."
Al Hirt does "Sweet Georgia Brown."
Bryan Harvey does "Communications Breakdown."
Then for the final set the rotation is changed again. Judy Garland starts singing "Alexander's Ragtime Band."
Janis Joplin does "Work Me, Lord."
Mama Cass does "New World Coming."
Linda McCartney does "The Light Comes From Within."
John Coltrane does "I'm Old Fashioned."
Carl Wilson does "God Only Knows."
Dennis Wilson does "Surfin' U.S.A."
Charlie Parker does "Night Bird."
Al Hirt does "When The Saints Come Marchin' In."
Bryan Harvey does "Dazed And Confused."
Then Kurt concludes the first section with "Smells Like Teen Spirit." When he concludes Judy Garland announces "We're taking a thirty minute break to get our energy back. We hope you will enjoy the group that fills in while we're resting." Then the stage is rotated and a local group begins to perform while Kurt Cobain And The Wonders rest. Then they come back for the second set.
