An Open Letter From The General Of The Armies Of Virginia
Robert E. Lee
To The Gentlemen And Ladies Of The United States Senate

October 28, 2,007

Most Profound Greetings!

I wish to take this opportunity to let you know that I am giving my full support to the candidacy of Speaker Gerald Polley to The Presidency Of The United States. I am doing all in my power to encourage those in the southern states to vote for him because he has made me a promise; that the first peice of legislation that he shall send to the congress on my behalf would be this. "That I do request that the name of Arlington National Cemetery be changed to The Robert E. Lee National Cemetery." If you, as the servants of The American People would fulfill this request for me when The President puts it forward, I would be eternally grateful to all of you.

Yours In The Service Of Him That Dwells In The Holiest Of All
And All Who Serve Him
Now, And Forever,

Robert E. Lee
A Soldier Of The Confederacy
