lating. Someday we will come back and destroy
you, as you destroyed all that is ours."
13 "If you wish to punish someone," argued Lord Change, "punish me. I
offer you my life in exchange for your agreement to enter the alliance.
I will present myself willingly to you as a final payment for the
crimes that my people committed against you, though we know you have
but one weapon that barely functions and do not realize that we are
three ships, but one, and could easily destroy what is left of your
people. I will give myself over into your hands that you may inflict
your final punishment so there can be peace."
14 The Officers on the ship looked at Lord Change in disbelief. There
was silence from the speaker for a time. "You will land," the voice
finally answered, "I will see your face."
15 "Order in one of the smaller ships," commanded Lord Change. "I will
transfer and land in that."
16 The Commander of the ship rose. "Lord," he argued, "I will not
permit you to do this. It is beyond reason. You are our heart, you are
our soul. You lead us out of The Darkness. How can we even consider
handing you over to our enemies?"
17 "How will you keep me from going?" Lord Change asked. "Will you put
me in chains? Will you hold me against my will?"
18 The man looked lost and helpless. Finally he nodded to the Radio
Operator who called in the smaller ship. After Lord Change had
transferred, they headed down to the planet.
