116 "What are you going to do, Lord?" the man pleaded.
117 "That is up to you," instructed Morn. "First of all, you will cancel the transfer of my personal Guard. Then you will return any Officers you have transferred to outposts to duties here on Haven with proper promotions. Finally, you will give a gift of two-thousand credits to any girl you have educated. Meet those conditions and I will do nothing. Fail to meet them, and I will let my father deal with it."
118 "It will take me some time," the General promised, "to do all that, but I will promise! I give you my word!"
119 "Then we will meet confidentially, every month," Morn agreed, "and you will give me a status report on your progress. If I think your efforts are satisfactory, all will be well."
120 "Agreed," snapped the General. "Agreed!"
121 "And remember," Morn continued, "no more visiting young ladies ...understood?"
122 "I understand," the General agreed.
123 Morn turned and started to leave, then stopped. "General," he remarked, "I've heard your daughter is a charming young lady. Bring her in with you this weekend when you have the duty. I would like to get acquainted. Let me know when she is coming."
124 "Yes, young Lord," the General agreed.
125 The young lady did prove charming, and she and Morn became good friends, but nothing more.
126 On the way to his quarters, Morn stopped off at slave control, selected a young woman, and ordered her sent to his apartment. The young woman was pleasantly surprised when she found out she had to do nothing but play cards and chat, and would sleep in Morn's mother's room. "You can tell them when you get back," Morn instructed, "we did whatever naughty thing that pleases you, but never tell anyone what we really do."
