37 "We'll set the money aside so it will be
ready," North Wind promised North.
38 North left. Stopping at a pay phone, he called Morn, explained the
favor. "The money's on its way," Morn agreed. "His tuition will be paid
this afternoon. Are you coming to the dance Saturday? It's the first
one we'll be allowed to have."
39 North shrugged. "Don't know any girls," he admitted, "and I'm not

blame you! I found out from my son. He couldn't keep a secret from me
if he tried! He knew my feelings anyway. The Empire's rotten to the
core." The old Officer unlocked a drawer in his desk, thumbed through
some papers, then handed a folded sheet to North. "I knew you'd want
that some day."
44 North opened the sheet and read the names. His eyes burned when he
saw Squad Leader The Trumpet Of God. He put the paper in his pocket. "I
hope," North remarked, "you're the ONLY one your son has mentioned our
group to!"
45 "Haven't heard a word," Blue Stone replied, "but go easy, North!
This leader of yours is pretty radical ....
