47 The Hashons have only been slaves for
five-hundred years. THEY have been slaves for fifty-thousand. North
does not control that fire, alone. His whole race stands behind him. He
is the result of thousands of years of his peoples' work, as you are
the result of thousands of years of YOUR peoples' efforts. You have a
Hashon's logic, calmness, and steadiness. North has the Haven's
aggression and vigor. Neither of you alone, as we have said, can
complete your mission. But together you can overcome this enemy.
48 By your oppositeness is your strength increased. You are the tall,
cool, mountain, while North is a raging volcano. You are the soft,
summer breeze, while North is the raging storm. But together you will
balance each other. Do not be concerned. Things are right. Things are as
they should be."
49 Morn nodded. "I still," he remarked, "do not like that my friend
must carry this burden alone."
50 "He does not carry it alone," argued Running Fox, "you carry it with
him. Your lines are so intertwined that it is sometimes hard to determine where one stops, and the other
begins."
51 "Depart with joy," prayed Morn, "for you have filled my heart, and I
am thankful for your wisdom."
52 Morn relaxed, and in an instant was asleep. This was one thing that
his mother had taught him well. He never had to struggle to sleep. The
moment he closed his eyes, he was at perfect peace, and was resting
completely. He could rest so deeply that he did not need as much sleep as others.
He often went to bed late, and woke early, but was never tired because
his body was fully rested.
