all the passages from engineering.
70 "Good!" announced Morn. "I'm going down to talk with the Doctor. You
monitor things up here. They might be able to lock out the controls but
they can't use theirs, either, unless we voluntarily release ours. The
computer won't let them. And we know for sure they're not going to mess
with that!"
71 "Not if they're in their right minds," agreed the Engineer, "but
this disease does strange things to the mind. I heard the two that died
got pretty wacky towards the end!"
72 "I think I'd better go see the Doctor," Morn continued. He made his
way to sickbay and found a young Medic sitting in the Doctor's office.
The man jumped up and came to attention when Morn entered. "At ease,"
Morn commanded. "Where's the Doctor?"
73 The man pointed to an examination table where a man lay sleeping.
Morn went over then walked back to the Medic. "Let him sleep," he
ordered. "Show me the medical reports, and I want to look at the
bodies."
74 The man gave Morn two readout boards then led him to the far end of
the sickbay into a room marked 'Morgue.' He turned on the lights on two
storage units carefully turning so he didn't have to look at the
bodies. Then, he stepped outside the door. "Don't break the seals,
sir," he warned.
75 Morn turned out the lights after a few minutes and came out.
"They're nothing but skin and bones!" he remarked.
76 The Medic nodded. Morn went through the autopsy reports. The final
line of each left him bewildered ....cause of death....acute
starvation! Morn mouthed the word.
77 "Yes, sir," the Medic remarked, "starvation, but but there's not a
thing wrong with their digestive systems, their blood, no sign of a
foreign organism, yet both these people starved to death. There's
virtually no sugar in
