10 "What is your purpose?" asked the droid, suddenly, and Morn's
thoughts were drawn to answer his question.
11 "We're on a rescue mission," he answered. "We are looking for
several hundred children lost from a vessel some six-hundred years ago.
We wish to awaken them from suspension and evacuate them to a place
where they can receive medical attention and live out their lives."
12 "You do not wish to harm my charges?" the droid asked.
13 Morn decided it was best to speak honestly. "I am aware," he
announced, "that the children are the offspring of rebels who fought
against The Empire. But only two others besides myself know this. The
others think they were lost from a colony vessel. You must tell them
nothing that would reveal our deception."
14 The point of the sword lowered. "You are different from the others,"
the droid continued. "Explain why."
15 "After you were lost," Morn answered, "The Havens conquered another
race called The Hashons. My mother was a member of that Race, my father
was a Haven."
16 The sword dropped more then was slipped into a scabbard that had
been attached to the droid's side. "You have spoken the truth. My
sensors have detected no lies. Therefore, I will open the hatch and
permit your friends to enter. Come, my little ones," ordered the droid.

17 From both ends of the hallway six smaller droids appeared, rolling
on wheels instead of treads. As they approached, they, too, returned
their weapons to their scabbards. Morn was glad he hadn't decided to
