injured. As soon as we're docked I want to be
maneuvering for a leap out of here! We don't stop for anyone, or,
anything until we're under the protection of The Home Fleet at Haven!"
33 Quickly the three ships joined together and in a few minutes
disappeared. As soon as they came out of leap North rushed to the
docking tubes leading to Morn's ship. Morn was waiting for him.
"Permission to come aboard?" Morn asked.
34 "Permission granted!" North responded. Morn entered the tube,
flipped over, and landed lightly beside his friend. He looked a mess!
His face and uniform were covered with soot, except where his air mask
had been. He was obviously exhausted but he reached out and grabbed
North's shoulders in a friendly greeting.
35 North replied. "You need a shower," he laughed, "and, some sleep.
Now that we've got the prisoners taken care of, why don't you let my
crew handle your ship, go to your quarters, take a shower, and go to
bed?"
36 "That would be difficult," sighed Morn, "my quarters took a direct
hit. My Officers and I will be homeless until the hole in the hull can
be fixed. It's too much for the hull droids to handle."
37 "Then, you've got my cabin," insisted North. "Help yourself to my
uniforms. We'll alternate our shifts so you can sleep while I'm on. I
want one of us on the command deck at all times. I'll arrange with my
Officers to share quarters with your men. I'm sure they'll be happy to
oblige."
38 "By the way," Morn praised, tugging the field generator of his body
shields, "these things work! We'd have all been wiped out when we took
that direct if it hadn't been for these! I'm glad you're inventive."
39 "So am I!" said North, "So am I!"
40 They saw few other ships on their journey to The Empire's Capitol.
Either no one suspected their route, or all other ships had been told
to stay away.
