30 The crews were dismissed, and as North was preparing to leave he saw
North 2 and his female companion talking with another woman. When North
2 returned to them, North asked who she was. "That's my mother,"
explained North 2. "We've convinced her to stay with us as she has not
paired off with anyone. I am actually a few years younger than you."
31 North shook his head. "It sometimes makes me nervous," he admitted.
"As soon as we can, we've got to sit down, brother, and have a long
talk."
32 "I would enjoy that!" agreed North 2. "I would enjoy that very much!"
33 North 2, as he would always be called, and North soon became good
friends, almost like real brothers. North wished to share his secret
with his friend Morn, for he knew Morn would like his counterpart as
much as North did.
34 A few quiet years passed, and while North was building a military
organization, Morn was building a political one. More and more Hashons
were given more and more control over their own affairs. Some of them were even raised
above the rank of Commoners and given privileges above those of some
Havens.
35 The resentment was bitter, but The Lord God made it clear....Morn
was in charge. His word was absolute Law in his sector, and would
someday be Law in the entire Empire. Only the Purists dared openly

36 When word came that their Leader was touring The Empire and would be
visiting Hades, it was quickly followed by an Imperial Messenger, who
