pin and gently slipped it in place. North and everyone else let out a
sigh of relief.
62 The other Officer took the grenade. North turned back to the
captives. "Take them out of here!' '' he snapped.
63 North's words proved true. Many years later he would visit all three
of these people again, and find them happily living with their Hashon
mates and children.
64 As he was leaving the woman took him aside. "Many years ago," she
apologized, ''I said some things about your wife. I wish to apologize.
If she is as sweet and tender and loving as my husband, I understand
why you drew my blood."
65 North smiled. She returned his smile. Both returned to the duties of
their life.
66 The disappearance of the Purist Leader rose bitter outcries, but how
could North have had anything to do with it? He had been on Hades all
