60 "I understand," the General answered. "Our man
will be there in four days."
61 "Very good," Morn responded. "Signing off."
62 Morn knew Medical didn't like being ordered around, but having their
own man present to assist and observe would soothe their battered
feelings. But The Lords of Hades helped them. If their bureaucratic
stubornness hurt North in any way ....Morn pushed that thought aside
and returned to his other duties.
63 The losses against The Peepians and preparance of a new Fleet was
draining local resources. Colonies throughout his sector were crying
for ships and crews, but there was simply not enough to go around. Morn
had plans to use this situation. He had ordered the molding of several
new Glukan ships for the Haven Fleet.
64 Already North had fenagled every new battleship built by this
process. Fleet still questioned a process developed by Hashons, but
North wanted every one of the ships he could get. They were twice as
strong as steel vessels, and had a melting point three times higher which made them more maneuverable and able to take far more
battle damage.
65 If The Empire didn't want them, then North's Rebels did, and so did
Morn. How he planned to crew them would shake The Empire. But right now
his attention was on North's problem.
66 The following day North visited the hospital and they took some
healthy brain cells so they could grow brain tissue to replace that
they would remove. The following day North met Sure Hands Fox for the first time, and the
Hashon Surgeon showed him how the operation would be performed with
recordings from other operations.
67 They would first put tubes in both of North's legs, which would be
used to supply blood to the portion of his brain that would be removed.
When that was safely out of the way and on a tray under the operating
table,
