shower!" thought North to himself, "Why, in the
Name of Hades in the shower?" He shrugged off the thought and returned
to other matters.
47 They were about a day from orbit when the Doctor asked North to come
to her cabin. It was end of shift and North was annoyed. He wanted to
relax and get some sleep. This whole thing had drained him. The only
thing that had made him feel better, was that the raiding parties had
made some major catches, and now he had a pretty good idea where The
Imperial Fleet was meeting, or little doubt what they had in mind.
48 They were bringing in everything they had. They were going to make
one massive drive for Hades, and, its all important shipyards. It was
what North had been waiting for. He had planned a trap, an elaborate
trap, that would bring the enemy force into its doom.
49 They would think they were winning, even land forces on Hades. Then
North would counter attack with the most awesome weapon The Hashons had
given him .... thousands upon thousands of death ships.
50 The Hashons had solved the problem of getting a small ship up to
orbiting warships. They were equipped with a primitive planetary drive
engine but in the nose of each ship was a powerful towing beacon. The
planetary engine lifted the ship off the planet to within range of its
tractor beam. The tractor beam hauled the ship up to its target.
51 Some of the ships carried powerful beam tubes, and could attack
several vessels by shifting their tractor beam from vessel to vessel.
52 Others carried old style automatic weapons and literally flung
themselves into the enemy vessels penetrating the shields and
detonating their weapons after they crashed through the ships hulls.
53 North could never understand how people could willingly pilot such
bombs into an enemy vessel, but
